The hype that comes with exercising at the gym is fair because there is different equipment to train with and gym instructors that will help you focus on your body goal, but a lot is happening there that you can't find out if you don't go there yourself.
An experience I had cleared my concerns about why so many people go to the gym and aren't improving with their body goals. The distractions at gyms are not for the weak because even I, as a lady, was shocked.
I went with my boyfriend, and he was a regular there. I had to ask him how he could concentrate with the ladies parading the gym almost half naked in the name of wearing gym wear. There were those with tripod stands and ring lights, streaming, and there was no way I could concentrate on staying fit in that kind of place. It might not be the same everywhere but I have developed a false impression about the gym.

Due to my body size, which is a blessing, I don't need to lift anything to stay fit. I just need a few activities and that's what I have been doing before and after the gym experience.
My activities include taking a walk with a few friends, and most times, I prefer a solo walk. Just me, with my earbuds and good music. Some days, I listen to inspirational content or just complete silence while I pay attention to nature. I take my walk at any time of the day, depending on my mood or the weather.
I love to swim to but haven't done that in a long time. The last time I went to the pool was about a year ago, before traveling for my NYSC. I had a good swim, and the next time will be after my service, which ends next month, so I can return to swimming a few times a month.

My business is the type that can be stressful too, going to the market to source ingredients and spending time baking or doing decorations is another exercise routine for me.
I didn't even know that these light activities were helping me and I wouldn't have known if not for NYSC. During the drills, I find it very comfortable to do some tasks that other corpers couldn't and I felt happy knowing that those little activities I do alone had a good impact on my overall well-being.

My exercise routine is very easy, flexible, and comfortable. It doesn't inconvenience me in any way, 0so it fits very well into my minimalist lifestyle. I don't have to spend excessively on trying to stay fit when I can do those exercises myself.
I don't have anything against the gym but the time used there can be used for other things while still working to stay fit. It's like saving time for me because it takes me two hours to and from the gym with the time spent there.
