First off, no Mötley Crüe is included today, pure click bait. But I promise it's some great stuff today!
One thing that I've learned in life is that it's an adventure. It's not always a fun adventure, but and adventure nonetheless. This last week was definitely not the fun kind, but things can only get better! After mentioning that last line I think maybe I should have added in some Howard Jones, maybe next week! Today is just some random fun stuff that I've listened to recently, and I hope you enjoy!
In case you haven't guessed yet, it's Tuesday once again and I'll be sharing another Three Tune Tuesday. First off I want to say thank you to @ablaze for starting and continuing to sponsor this fun weekly event where you can share three fun songs that you enjoy. One lucky participant will win some HSBI units, you can't have too many of those! So if you don't already participate feel free to jump in, just use the tag #ttt or #threetunetuesday and it's never a bad idea to do a shoutout to @ablaze .
So to kick off this motley mix of tunes, I'll go with a classic band: Beastie Boys.
Beastie Boys
Formed in New York City in 1979 this trio had the idea to blend rap with rock n roll. In the early 80's they began to pick up a small fan base, but that all changed with their album License To Ill in 1986 that became one of the best selling rap albums of the 1980's. The song "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)" was the a big reason why it was so successful.
In the 90's they continued producing great music, probably one of their best songs is this one from 1994 called "Sabotage". It is much more a rock sound and they made a hilarious video to go with it. Check it out:
Saving Abel
This rock band has their origins in Corinth, Mississippi forming in 2004. A local producer heard them and invited them to record a few songs, he then proceeded to shop the album around to big labels. They managed to get signed and released their first album in 2008. This song went to the top of the charts and is called "Addicted".
Volbeat
The Danish rock band formed in Copenhagen in 2001. Fronted by Michael Poulsen it didn't take long before they released their first album in 2005 and were touring with Metallica. For the second album Poulsen wrote a song showing his appreciation for Johnny Cash with this song "Sad Man's Tongue". It starts with an old Johnny Cash acoustic sound then adds in the metal. It's a great song!
These guys are playing on July 25th in Los Angeles and I'll be going, as much as I hate driving up to LA... It's always a traffic nightmare!
That will wrap up this edition of Three Tune Tuesday! I hope you enjoyed some or all of the selections I picked out. Today was more of a hard rock week, but it just fits my mood today. Please feel free to leave any questions or comments below, they are always appreciated. As always thank you so much for all of your support, I am very grateful. Have a great day everyone!
