TIGER BEETLE // Capturing the Tiny Details of a Unique Insect Through a Macro Lens

in Discovery-it2 days ago

Good night to all my beloved hive friends ♥️

Introducing, this is a tiger beetle from the family "Carabidae." This particular beetle often spends its time on the ground rather than in trees, and we can easily find it along the edges of rivers. However, don't be fooled by the beauty of this insect, because this particular insect is a highly skilled predator that is extremely fast and aggressive.
I myself managed to find this tiger beetle behind my house, and I had to try several times before I could get close to it.

This particular beetle has a very interesting body structure. At first glance, it has a slender body with several metallic colors on its body, such as green, blue, and golden. This is one of those beetles with very unique characteristics, but once again, this is an insect that is quite small in size, so its beauty has to be seen from up close.

With a macro lens, we can see every detail of this beetle quite clearly, even every tiny hair covering its entire body. However, the most interesting feature that caught my attention is its two rather long antennae, which also function as sensory organs.

I also want to say that photographing this particular beetle is more difficult than photographing a fly. It is very sensitive to even the slightest movement or sound, so every step I take to approach it will definitely make it immediately fly away.

However, when this particular beetle landed on a tree branch, I managed to get closer to it, and this became a golden opportunity for me to capture its beauty. I kept a safe distance from the beetle so that it would not feel threatened, and surprisingly, this particular beetle also managed to give me some of its best poses for me to photograph.

Distance by distance, angle by angle, I kept trying to get the best possible result. I felt a little nervous when my macro lens was already very close to this particular beetle. Luckily, the beetle did not fly away, and in the end, I was able to capture its beauty perfectly.

The most nerve-wracking moment was when I tried to photograph this particular beetle from the front, because I was directly facing the beetle with my macro lens. At that moment, I planned to take quite a large number of photos of this beetle, but I couldn't do that because the beetle immediately flew away, so I only managed to capture two photos.

However, two photos were already enough to show the beauty and uniqueness of this particular beetle, and we should also know that this is a very fast and aggressive natural predator.

I had never seen a beetle with those colors... beautiful!

The population of this beetle is still relatively stable in my area, and we can easily find it here.
