Greetings and salutations, Hivers. Time for another Three Tune Tuesday post.

As always, thanks to @ablaze for starting this great series. Tons of people take part each week—follow the tag to discover some amazing music.
This week, I've got a fun mix for you. All three songs are covers (one is a mashup too), and each one lives up to — or even improves on — the original. There's a theme tying them together, but I’ll let you figure it out.
Let’s dive in.

POMPLAMOOSE ft. KO – Every Breath + 500 Miles
This one’s a mashup of Every Breath You Take by The Police and I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers. Both are classics. Especially the former, which is maybe the best track The Police ever did. Pomplamoose blends them seamlessly. Give it a spin.
Sing It Live – Walk Like an Egyptian
One of the catchiest songs of the 80s, now with a killer modern twist. The lead singer here is almost as cute as Susanna Hoffs — one of the original Bangles, but you knew that (I hope) — well...almost.
Martin Miller & Mark Lettieri – Purple Rain
I just can’t seem to get away from the 80s. But really — wasn’t that the best decade for music? Here’s one of its most iconic tracks, given a powerful, soulful treatment. An excellent cover of a legendary song.

So — what’s your favorite?
