Creating an active community

in Earn, Spend, Give10 months ago

Happy new week to all frugal minds here, it's new year and since the beginning of the year,we've been seeing different wonderful prompts in different communities which makes engagement more fun. Kudos to @terganftp for always coming with interesting prompts weekly and this is the beauty of this community. I can say it isn't easy to always try to keep the community active round the year, it must have been a difficult nut to crack but nevertheless, he is always coming through every week and he deserves an accolades for that.

Back to this week's prompt, starting a community is a difficult task even though I haven't tried to create one but I know it is not a bed of roses adventure. It takes a lot of planning, strategies, consistency, and discipline to raise a successful community. There will be several challenges that might want to make one efforts fruitless, and at some point you might want to give up and forget all about the project but it takes a determined person who knows what he or she wants to achieve the success he or she is after.

WHERE SHOULD THE COMMUNITY GO FOR THE COMING YEAR?

The answer to this question is a collective effort, not a one man's job. The community should sure go to a higher height far beyond where it was the previous year. The joy of any project founder and members or participants is to see the project thrive amidst storm. To grow a community is the work of the founder and the members participating in it, their collective knowledge and efforts will be a great force to climb the success ladder to the top. The community should succeed beyond its previous year record, that is where the community should go this year.

WHAT WOULD MAKE IT BETTER?

Just as I've said earlier, a collective effort will go a long way, creating a good founder - members relationship where the founder is easily accessible and made him or herself available for corrections will be a great driving force to success. A know-all act will not help in this situation, it will only make the community stagnant with no record of success. A cordial relationship will make both founder and members to reason a way out of every challenges the community might be facing.

WHAT DISCUSSIONS WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE?

As a member of this community, I would love to have discussions on every area of life because we spend, earn , and give in one way or the other. Every discussions should extend to every areas of human lives because what this community originates on is what its been carried out daily in human lives. Therefore, discussions shouldn't be focus on a point.
Post prompts that will be released should be on every areas of life just as I said earlier, financially, economically, mentally, emotionally , and physically. It should be related to human daily activities.

HOW CAN WE MAKE THIS MORE INTERESTING FOR PEOPLE?

There are many ways we can make this community more interesting for people who are here. To mention but few.

  • Creating access to monetize the token gift, many people might lose interest when the token isn't yielding any income neither are they getting voted for.

  • Organise giveaways that will encourage participants to engage more and stay active always not limiting to the weekly prompts alone.

  • Organise active games that can keep members engaged in the community at all times.

We should try to make the community grow, invite more people to join, but they can only remain active after joining if they are able to earn a tangible reward and participate in activities that will interest them. I guess we should work more on that so that the community can grow larger and become on of the best on hive.

Thanks for the feedback.

Growth is nice but to be honest I'd much rather be surrounded by a small group of friends than a large group of strangers.

As for being rewarded ... this is Hive and of course getting rewarded for effort is important and again I only have so much that I can offer weekly so I'd rather that be more to a small group of friends than a little to more people.

Thanks go to the #HivePakistan crew for allowing me to curate on their behalf.

I have mentioned that I'll be looking into staking rewards for the GLD token and I'm glad it is able to be traded on Tribaldex (or Hive engine I suppose) so it is not just a worthless coin in your wallet.

I am looking to link the online community to real world projects. Being able to spend GLD for drop shipped items is something I'm looking into although what to offer and how it would work is giving me some headaches.

Again, thanks for the feedback and I'll see if I can keep things moving for the upcoming year :)

You are welcome boss

It is indeed a collective effort to grow the group. You spelt out a few nice suggestions that could improve engagement.

Thanks for reading boss
