💐Myanmar Water Festival Flower crochet💐

in DIYHub7 months ago

Hello guys,

Welcome back to my crochet new blog. How is it going? What events do you have these days and how is the weather? Myanmar's New Year is coming soon, so the water festival is being celebrated in our country. Water festival is normally held for exactly 4 days and today is the 3rd day. During Thingyan, I spend time crocheting at home instead of playing outside.

Today I will tell you about how to crochet a kind of flower which is an atmosphere of the Myanmar water festival. This flower is called Padauk flower in Burmese and some people call it Burmese rosewood flower. The Padauk flower is Myanmar's national flower and blooms only once a year. It is a faithful flower because it only blooms on New Year's Day in Myanmar. That's why Burmese people cherish the faithful principle of Padauk flower with love. Today, I'm going to show you how to crochet a padauk flower in detail. I will tell you about the materials I used. Let's get started.

Materials-

  • yarn
  • hook
  • plastic pot
  • needle
  • glue
  • scissors

For bud

For the bud, I used green yarn and made the magic ring first. Below is the pattern I used for Bud.

After cutting the yarn, I attached a small string inside with glue. I wrapped that with the excess yarn.

According to that method, I made 7 buds.

For Flower

Below is the pattern I used for the flower.

I attached a small iron to the bottom of the flower and wrapped it with green thread.

Now I have a very cute padauk flower. I made 9 flowers in the same way.

For leaf

What I mentioned above is the leaf pattern that I used. I made 2 leaves according to that pattern.

Now we are ready to shape the Padauk flower.

At the top of the chain, I wrapped the buds with yarn, in the middle I wrapped the flowers, and at the bottom I wrapped the leaves.

Now I have a very nice little padauk branch. I made another one in the same way.

I stuck those 2 padauk branches in the middle of the plastic pot with glue.

In the last step, I tied the pot with a yellow ribbon.

Above I have listed some pictures of padauk flower that I took today. That's it for today. Thank you very much for reading my post to the end. See you tomorrow in a new post. Bye Bye.
