Hello friends! I finally was able to get something I have wanted for a long time, a button press! I found one for less than half what I normally see them for on eBay, so I splurged! 😃
The instructions it came with were unclear (typical nonsense translation error, I think), so I had to go searching through videos (I much prefer written instructions but couldn't find any) to figure it out. So I thought I would share here!
First, you put in the blank smooth metal piece, on the left side if you are facing the machine to where the handle is pointing up in your direction. It will fit so that the rim of the piece sits in the grooves of the bottom cup.
Then you add on top of that, your artwork.
Then on top of that, the clear plastic film piece.
Then on the right side, you add the back, with the inside up. That is, so that the pin part that you use to pin it to your jacket or bag or whatever, is facing down.
You press the left side first. It does not press down as far on this side. It will pick up the whole thing, so the bottom cup will be empty when you slide them over to do the right side.
Slide it over, and press the right side. Your finished pin will be left in the bottom cup!
I am having so much fun making my own pins. I have already added some to my jacket. 😄
I am also doing a little fundraiser!
If you donate any amount to Layan's GoFundMe, I will send you a pin of one of these styles of your choice (within the US; sorry I'd love to do it internationally but I don't have the funds for crazy shipping and I think they would count the bumpiness as a "package" rather than an "envelope" and I would have to send it as such with a customs declaration and all):
Just show me a screencap or something that you donated and let me know which pin you'd like. :) Those are the flag of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (#FreeCongo), Sudan (#KeepEyesOnSudan), a Free Palestine watermelon, and the flag of Palestine (#FreePalestine).
Thank you for reading and have a great day! 💚
