My #OfficeTable was always scattered, so I needed a simple way to arrange my #stationery. Seeing someone use a drinking cup as a pen holder inspired me to make something more #creative and stronger for myself.
While at a printing press to print a document, I spotted a strong cardboard core on the floor. It is the type used to roll flex banners, and large prints. It was thick, cylindrical, and perfect for my project. I requested for one and decided to use it for my #organizer.

Materials
Strong cardboard core (used for rolling flex)
Suede material
Foam
Wax gum
Saw blade
EVA foam sheet
Steps

I began by cutting the #cardboardCore into the sizes I wanted. I made two pieces for the organizer. Cutting it was not easy because the material is very thick, so I had to use a saw blade. After cutting it, I glued the pieces together and used A4 paper to cover the inside.

Next, I measured the cardboard core with a tape rule, cut the suede material to size, and wrapped each piece neatly.

I then created a base using an EVA foam sheet. I used it to close the bottom of each piece and wrapped it with suede material.

After that, I glued the base to the main body. I added foam inside and covered the inner part with material so the raw cardboard would not show. I used the same EVA foam and a sticker to embellish it. I added an artificial flower, and finally use a silver ribbon to tape both up and down.

Making this organizer was very interesting. I enjoyed watching it take shape as I wrapped it and joined all the parts together. My biggest challenge was cutting the cardboard core because it was very hard. I don’t have simple machines that could make the work easier. A small electrical cutting machine with adjustable blades would have done the job in minutes.
This is one challenge I often face while making #crafts. I know that once I get such a #machine, creating my #projects will be much easier, neater, and more #professional. This simple table organizer will help me keep my table neat.
