Hello dear Hive family, how are you?
I hope this week is a good one for all of you. I made this painting of the Virgin of the Valley for my aunt Milagros who is very devoted to the Virgin of the Valley.
The Virgin of the Valley is the patron saint of the east of the country in Venezuela. According to legend, a group of fishermen found a small image of the Virgin Mary in the bay of Cariaco, carrying the baby Jesus in her arms.

Espero que este semana sea buena para todos ustedes. Realicé esta pintura de la virgen del Valle para mi tia Milagros que es muy devota a la Virgen Del Valle.
La virgen del Valle es la patrona del oriente del país en Venezuela, según cuenta la leyenda, un grupo de pescadores encontró en la bahía de Cariaco una pequeña imagen de la Virgen María, que llevaba en sus brazos al niño Jesús.

Paso a Paso - Step By Step

I started by painting a white background on the canvas, then with the pencil I made a sketch of the drawing of the Virgin of the Valley. Then I added blue colour to paint the sea and with the white colour I made some shadows to give it a perspective of movement in the water. Then I did the same with the sky!
Then with a skin colour I painted the face and hands of the Virgin of the Valley.
Inicié realizando con la pintura un fondo blanco sobre el lienzo, luego con el lápiz realicé el bosquejo del dibujo de la Virgen del Valle. Luego añadí color azul para pintar el mar y con el color blanco hice algunas sombras para darle una perspectiva de movimiento en el agua. Seguidamente hice lo mismo con el cielo!
vLuego con un color piel pinté la cara y las manos de la Virgen del Valle.

I then added colour to the mountains using two shades of green, one darker and one lighter. Then I added brown to the ground.
Then with the same brown colour I painted the buildings and taking another darker brown colour I painted the windows and doors of the church.
Luego agregué color en las montañas utilizando dos tonalidades de color verde, uno más oscuro y uno más claro. Luego añadí color Marrón al suelo.
Después con el mismo color marrón pinté las edificaciones y tomando otro color marrón más oscuro pinté las ventanas y las puertas de la iglesia.

Finally I applied colour to the crown, the facial features and the overall outfit.
Por ultimo apliqué color en la corona los rasgos del rostro y el atuendo en general.
