Have a great day hivers. Hello fish lovers. Who among you here have always had fish on the table? Well for us that lives in an island and in a nearby fishing port we always have. Today I'm going to share you a very simple recipe that I love the most about fish recipes. This is my fifth month in the island and fishes are seasons. They only come if it's their season. This month is the season of a fish we locally named "Pirit". Only a few wanted to eat this because it has allergic reactions but as for me there's none and I like the meat of this fish. The special recipe for this is fried then coconut milk but today I try cooking it in a vinegar.

This is the pirit fish. We bought it around 7 pm. It's so fresh and the vendor says it's a new catch. We bought two pieces only and this is good for two days since it's only me and my husband and the two little kids.

I just clean it first. Remove the gills and intestines. Then slice into a desired size and wash again until no blood stain left.

Then file it in a pan. Usually I just put it all the way but I figured out that if I arranged it properly, when it is cooked I can get one of them easily so I file them from the thick part in the middle and the thin part in the outer side.

After everything is plain. I slice some onions and pinch some garlic. Typically my husband or my mother don't put onion on this recipe but for me I like to have onions. I also put a little ginger. I love how the ginger adds little spiciness feeling. Then spread salt and msg. And the most important ingredients is the vinegar. Sometimes I used coconut vinegar but today it's not available in the store so I use this sachet of vinegar and I think this is a sugarcane vinegar. Then add little water in it just to soak them all when it boils.

Then I put it in the stove. I just let it boil for 10 minutes then I tasted it whether it's salty or not. I taste a bit salty so I add water and little pepper powder. Then after 5 minutes it's done and ready to be served.

I just get a rice in a plate and also one slice of fish with the onions. This is perfectly dip on a soy sauce too. And now let's have a great meal!
That's all for today hivers. Thank you so much for reading my blog until here. I hope you like it. Do you have any fish recipe of pirit? Can you drop it in the comments? Thank you so much!

wow, I thought it could only be made with milk. It turns out you can also cook it with vinegar or make it paksiw. When I have time to cook again, I will do this, thank you so much😊.

This is best for vinegar cook. If it's milk then it should be fried first.

We call that here Bansikol.I like it when it is fried or paksiw!I just dont like the black meat

Wow such an interesting name. I haven't heard it before. Yeah it's nice when fried or paksiw

Anong salita yong Pirit? But that's tulingan no? We don't eat that kind of fish at home esp the oldies, but Mama loves that. This kind of luto is really perfect, tas if may leftovers you can also cook it with gata naman then out kamias nalang. UwU

It is almost the same with tulingan but tulingan meat is more hard. Pirit one is tender or soft. Tulingan has solid meat. Pirit is slimy while tulingan is not. Actually Pirit is not good for everyone there are some who got allergies. Some got arthritis.
