I'd lean towards option 2. While having a set day each month has the advantage of everyone easily understanding exactly what is going on, being more flexible in the dates can be of greater financial advantage. Plus it adds that element of fun to the mix, which is... well, fun! In these trying times when most news is dark, we need more fun in our lives.
