@suezoe llega a nuestra casa para contarnos su experiencia en Hive, sus triunfos, satisfacciones y obstáculos, a ella le apasiona escribir, coser, dibujar y hacer manualidades, va dejando su huella en las comunidades que se dedican a estos nichos. En su blog podemos encontrar diferentes vivencias que nos hacen apreciar su calidez humana.
Fue un placer contactarla para que nos ofreciera sus impresiones y también algunos consejos para los nuevos hivers y, por su puesto, para aquellos que ya tienen una trayectoria en la plataforma. Disfrutemos de estas respuestas pues están llenas de autenticidad.

1. Cuéntanos un poco de ti. ¿Quién eres fuera de la pantalla de Hive? (Profesión, hobbies, de dónde eres, etc.)
Mi nombre es “Sue”, soy de Venezuela, una Analista de Sistemas que se desempeña en el mundo del arte, más que nada en el área de costura y dibujo. Me gustan mucho las manualidades, así que tengo muchos hobbies, porque todo lo que veo lo quiero hacer jaja por lo que, al tener tantos intereses, procuro dedicarle una temporada de mi vida a cada uno. Por ejemplo, actualmente me estoy dedicando más que nada al dibujo y los collages, luego de pasar unos meses sólo cosiendo. Si por mi fuera, me la pasaría haciendo algo creativo todo el tiempo. Podría decirse que, cuando algo me inspira, me apasiono demasiado. Pero el hobbie que no abandono por nada del mundo, es el de la escritura. Escribo todos los días, tanto para la plataforma como por diversión; es más, si no escribo, me deprimo.
2. ¿Cómo llegaste a Hive y cuál fue tu primera impresión?
Llegué a Hive gracias a mi amiga @Yetsimar. Ella nos habló a un grupo de chicas y a mí acerca de la plataforma, su funcionamiento y cómo se podrían obtener ingresos a través de lo publicado. Al principio me parecía todo muy increíble, pero me llamó mucho la atención la libertad que se ofrecía (y más al ver las ganancias reales), tanto en la creación de contenido como en lo de las ganancias, sin mayor exigencia que el tiempo y esfuerzo, así que no dudé en darle una oportunidad, porque me animaba tener un espacio en dónde mostrar todo lo que hacía.
3. ¿Cuál es la diferencia más grande que ves entre las redes sociales convencionales (como Facebook, Instagram, tik tok, etc) y las redes sociales que hay dentro de Hive?
Pues, aparte de que se puede obtener una ganancia real sin tener tantos seguidores o ser ultra reconocido, también encuentro que es un espacio bastante respetuoso y ameno… o al menos, yo nunca me he encontrado con malos comentarios o con personas hostiles atacando a otras. Utilizo las otras redes sociales y me encuentro mucho eso: personas que atacan a otra simplemente porque sí y eso, siempre me termina incomodando. Podría decirse que Hive, es mi espacio seguro en ese aspecto.
4. Si tuvieras que definir Hive en una sola frase, ¿cuál sería?
“Un espacio ideal para la libertad creativa”
5. ¿En qué comunidades sueles publicar o interactuar con mayor frecuencia y por qué?
Pues… depende mucho del contenido que tenga, ya que suelo publicar de todo (así no me aburro jaja). Aunque últimamente me he centrado en NeedleWorkMonday, para cuando elaboro contenido de costura; Caturday, religiosamente todos los sábados para hablar sobre mis gatos y expresar mi amor por ellos; Topfamily, porque su concurso semanal lo veo como un ejercicio de escritura que me ha ayudado un montón desde que empecé a participar; Actifit, cada vez que salgo y camino mucho, publico ahí jaja me motiva a moverme y a dejar el sedentarismo de lado; lmac, porque adoro los collages, así que cuando puedo participar en sus concursos, lo hago (hay uno activo actualmente, los invito a sumarse); streetart, me encanta esa comunidad, pues puedes subir todo el arte callejero que encuentres en las calles y a veces tengo suerte, sentirme como una cazadora de tesoros urbanos, me inspira… lamentablemente, no he hallado nada nuevo para mostrar jaja; Hivearte, para mostrar mis dibujos y collages físicos; más recientemente Drawaday, en donde puedo enseñar algún dibujo sencillo hecho el mismo día (soy lenta dibujando jaja) y cuando elaboro a alguna manualidad o proyecto de costura sencillo, también publico en Diyhub… A veces publico en otras comunidades, pero la mayor parte del tiempo me encuentro entre estas, como mencioné, dependiendo de lo que haya realizado los días anteriores. Me gusta revisar cada cierto tiempo las comunidades para ver si hay nuevas y no tengo miedo de publicar en comunidades “muertas” jaja a lo mejor con mi post, se animen a publicar.
6. ¿Cuál ha sido tu mayor logro o la experiencia más gratificante que has tenido en Hive hasta ahora?
Son varios jaja pues gracias a Hive pude comprarme varios electrodomésticos, llevar a mi gato a un control veterinario, castrar al gato de mi hermana y solventar mis gastos cuando estaba estudiando Artes plásticas… así que considero que el mayor logro como tal, es ayudarme a tener valor en mí misma, en mi arte y en mis experiencias de vida.
7. ¿Qué fue lo más difícil de aprender en tus inicios?
En mis inicios tuve la guía de mi amiga Yetsimar en todo momento, así que no tuve tantas complicaciones; sin mencionar que estaba algo “obsesionada” con aprender a usar la plataforma, así que me la pasaba investigando por mi cuenta sobre las comunidades, las recompensas y todo eso, sin mencionar que creo que mis conocimientos sobre informática y uso de otras redes, me ayudaron bastante. Sin embargo, en el presente hay cosas que aún tengo que aprender jaja pero me tomo las cosas con más calma.
8. ¿Cómo describirías tu visión a futuro dentro del ecosistema de Hive?
La verdad… no soy de pensar mucho en el futuro. Siempre he sido así. No me gusta planificar o idealizar, pero siempre trato de pensar siempre en positivo y pensar que las cosas siempre van a mejorar… así que espero mucho éxito para la plataforma.
9. ¿Qué consejo le darías a un hiver que apenas está comenzando?
Yo le diría que debe esforzarse. Todo en la vida si deseas que funcione, necesita sí o sí, cierto grado de compromiso y disciplina. Interesarse en aprender cómo funciona la plataforma, lo que se desea mostrar, así como hallar un modo de expresarse que vibre contigo, es mucho más importante que pensar únicamente en las recompensas: Trabaja primero y todo lo demás llegará.
10. Si quieres explicarle Hive a un familiar o amigo, para que se una a la plataforma, ¿qué le dirías para convencerlo?
Siempre les decía lo mismo: “Imagínate que eres el escritor de una revista sobre tu vida, allí, puedes escribir de lo que quieras, cuando quieras y como quieras”; porque así lo veo yo, ya que un blog es precisamente eso, un espacio en donde puedes vaciar tus pensamientos y aficiones. Por supuesto, eso es lo que me engancha a mí jaja porque no es un trabajo que me canse y siempre me gusta tener un espacio dónde recordar lo que he hecho.
11. Para finalizar, ¿Has tenido alguna experiencia directa con Hispapro? Si es así, ¿qué tal ha sido?
Pues, tuve la oportunidad de compartir con @yonnathang en persona una vez cuando asistí a un festival en la ciudad y fue bastante amable, sin mencionar que siempre despejó mis dudas en todo momento, por eso confié en mi delegación de HP (en ese tiempo, no sabía qué significaba siquiera eso jaja).

@suezoe joins us to share her experience on Hive—her successes, joys, and challenges. She’s passionate about writing, sewing, drawing, and crafting, and she’s making her mark in the communities dedicated to these niches. On her blog, we can find various stories that help us appreciate her warm personality.
It was a pleasure to reach out to her so she could share her impressions and some advice for new Hivers—and, of course, for those who already have a track record on the platform. Let’s enjoy these answers, as they’re full of authenticity.

1. Tell us a little about yourself. Who are you outside of Hive? (Job, hobbies, where you’re from, etc.)
My name is “Sue,” I’m from Venezuela, and I’m a systems analyst who works in the art world, mainly in sewing and drawing. I really love crafts, so I have a lot of hobbies—because I want to try everything I see, haha. Since I have so many interests, I try to dedicate a period of my life to each one. For example, right now I’m focusing mostly on drawing and collages, after spending a few months just sewing. If it were up to me, I’d spend all my time doing something creative. You could say that when something inspires me, I get way too passionate about it. But the hobby I wouldn’t give up for anything in the world is writing. I write every day, both for the platform and for fun; in fact, if I don’t write, I get depressed.
2. How did you discover Hive, and what was your first impression?
I discovered Hive thanks to my friend @Yetsimar. She told a group of us girls—including me—about the platform, how it works, and how we could earn money through our posts. At first, it all seemed too good to be true, but I was really drawn to the freedom it offered (especially after seeing the actual earnings)—both in terms of content creation and monetization—with no major requirements other than time and effort. So I didn’t hesitate to give it a try, because I was excited to have a space where I could showcase everything I did.
3. What is the biggest difference you see between conventional social media (like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and the social media within Hive?
Well, aside from the fact that you can earn real money without having a huge following or being super famous, I also find it to be a pretty respectful and friendly space… or at least, I’ve never come across mean comments or hostile people attacking others. I use the other social media platforms and see that a lot: people attacking others just for the sake of it, and that always ends up making me uncomfortable. You could say that Hive is my safe space in that regard.
4. If you had to describe Hive in a single sentence, what would it be?
“An ideal space for creative freedom”
5. Which communities do you usually post in or interact with most often, and why?
Well… it really depends on the content I have, since I tend to post about everything (that way I don’t get bored, haha). Although lately I’ve been focusing on NeedleWorkMonday, for when I create sewing content; Caturday, religiously every Saturday to talk about my cats and express my love for them; Topfamily, because I see their weekly contest as a writing exercise that has helped me a lot since I started participating; Actifit—every time I go out and walk a lot, I post there haha; it motivates me to get moving and leave my sedentary lifestyle behind; lmac, because I love collages, so whenever I can participate in their contests, I do (there’s one active right now—I invite you to join in); streetart—I love that community because you can upload all the street art you find on the streets, and sometimes I get lucky; feeling like an urban treasure hunter inspires me…Unfortunately, I haven't found anything new to show, haha; Hivearte, where I share my physical drawings and collages; more recently, Drawaday, where I can post a simple drawing I did that same day (I'm a slow drawer, haha); and when I work on a craft or a simple sewing project, I also post on Diyhub… Sometimes I post in other communities, but most of the time I stick to these, as I mentioned, depending on what I’ve done in the previous days. I like to check the communities every so often to see if there are any new ones, and I’m not afraid to post in “dead” communities haha—maybe my post will encourage others to post.
6. What has been your biggest achievement or the most rewarding experience you’ve had on Hive so far?
There are several, haha. Thanks to Hive, I was able to buy several appliances, take my cat to the vet for a checkup, have my sister’s cat neutered, and cover my expenses while I was studying fine arts… so I consider my greatest achievement to be helping me gain confidence in myself, my art, and my life experiences.
7. What was the hardest thing to learn when you first started?
When I first started, my friend Yetsimar was there to guide me every step of the way, so I didn’t run into too many complications; not to mention that I was kind of “obsessed” with learning how to use the platform, so I spent a lot of time researching the communities, rewards, and all that on my own. Plus, I think my computer skills and experience with other social media platforms helped me a lot. However, there are still things I need to learn now, haha, but I’m taking things a bit more slowly.
8. How would you describe your vision for the future within the Hive ecosystem?
Honestly… I’m not one to think much about the future. I’ve always been that way. I don’t like to plan or idealize, but I always try to think positively and believe that things will always get better… so I hope for great success for the platform.
9. What advice would you give to a creator just starting out?
I’d tell them to put in the effort. If you want anything in life to work, it absolutely requires a certain degree of commitment and discipline. Taking an interest in learning how the platform works, what you want to showcase, and finding a way to express yourself that resonates with you is much more important than thinking only about the rewards: Work first, and everything else will follow.
10. If you wanted to explain Hive to a family member or friend to get them to join the platform, what would you say to convince them?
I always told them the same thing: “Imagine you’re the writer of a magazine about your life—there, you can write about whatever you want, whenever you want, and however you want”; because that’s how I see it, since a blog is exactly that—a space where you can pour out your thoughts and hobbies. Of course, that’s what hooks me, haha, because it’s not a job that tires me out, and I always like having a space where I can look back on what I’ve done.
11. Finally, have you had any direct experience with Hispapro? If so, how was it?
Well, I had the chance to meet @yonnathang in person once when I attended a festival in the city, and he was really nice—not to mention that he always cleared up my doubts whenever I had them. That’s why I trusted my HP delegation (back then, I didn’t even know what that meant, haha).
