Killing Time the Right Way: Aerial Views of a Quaint Village

in Drone3 months ago

So, there I was, tasked with picking up my daughter from her boyfriend’s place—because apparently, Uber Dad is a thing now. Naturally, I got there a little early, because who wants to be that parent who shows up late and steals away those precious last moments of young love? Not me, that's for sure.

Instead of sitting in the car, scrolling through my phone and pretending to be interested in whatever social media disaster was trending that day, I decided to take a quick detour to the village center. I had my DJI Mini 3 Pro with me (because what kind of drone enthusiast leaves home without it?), and I figured I’d use the time to capture some aerial shots.

And let me tell you, the village was looking picture-perfect that day. The sky was a brilliant blue with just the right amount of fluffy white clouds, and the sun was casting that golden hour glow across the rooftops and fields. I launched the drone and, within minutes, was greeted with stunning views that made the whole dad-chauffeur gig feel worth it.

From up high, the village unfolded like a classic European postcard. The red-tiled rooftops, the orderly rows of houses, and the wind turbines in the distance all lined up in perfect harmony. I even got some cool shots of the church tower, which looked absolutely majestic against the backdrop of the sprawling countryside.

So, the next time you find yourself with a few extra minutes on your hands, don’t waste them. Grab your drone and see what new perspective you can capture. And if that sounds like a thinly veiled excuse to sneak in some extra flight time, well, you’re absolutely right.

Just saying, there’s always a good reason to launch the drone. Even if it’s just to kill time before another dad duty.

Very cool drone shots, @borniet! I'd much rather live in a village than a city! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Definitely!!! I love going to the city, it's also great for taking pictures, even drone photography, but never want to live there again !INDEED !!!

I'm sure, and I so understand! I haven't been to an actual city in quite a while now...lol! I don't even know if I would still enjoy it! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I can imagine after all these years :-D
Of course, there's a difference in cities as well, if you take what we call a big city like Antwerp, it hardly even compares to an average town in the States I guess :-)
What I love about many of our cities is the history you can see there. A few months ago we went to Trier, in Germany, and visited the Dom, which is like 2000yrs old. That is unimaginable. That's the city part I love :-)

Yes, indeedy, living so many years naked in the jungle changed me, that's for sure! Many US cities are entirely too big I'd say! Yes, that's one thing that I certainly understand about living in or visiting old cities with amazing history and the architecture to go with it! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

That's !INDEED simply lovely in many European/Belgian cities! If you walk around in Bruges, it only takes just a very little bit of imagination to think of yourself as walking around in the middle ages. And many cities in Belgium are like that (though not in the same extend as Bruges). It's not like walking around in an open air mall, or a business park.

That sounds amazing indeed! I've so far not been to any really old city, which is why I appreciate Hivers sharing their photo adventures in such cities! Some of them are quite incredible! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Then they call me ugly and poor.
