Hearing is one thing but listening is another. People may hear but do not understand. When people hear anything and do not show the proof of it, it means that they were not understanding. To heat the Word of God but not put it into practice reveals that we are only hearing without listening. The Word of God that we hear can only profit us if we understand what we are hearing.
The blessings which God promised us is in His Word. When we assimilate the word of God into our spirits, we are able to really benefit from that word. There are several goodness that studying the Word of God can bring to pass in our lives. We can only get to benefit from all these if we understand what we are hearing from the word of God.
The Bible says that our faith is standing upon this Word of God. We are believers in the Word of God. We are believing what we have learnt. There won't be faith if we do not hear and understand the Word of God. It is the Word of God that produces the faith in us.
