It was another day for mass indoctrination and as usual, I got to learn some important teachings as it affects my Christian life and also I got to learn few Greek words from the teaching.
Why Do We Keep Repeating Our Prayers?
Do you think God is deaf or suffering from amnesia? When we pray, we should pray with faith that God will grant us our heart desires and not just repeating it over and over again.
When we pray, we should try not to be hypocritical about it just like the ancient Jews who prayed standing up at conspicuous places so that people will see them and know they were praying.
However, when we want to pray just like Matthew 6:5 told us, it is better to kneel down and pray except maybe we cannot kneel down as a result of health conditions or other factors but it is always better to kneel down rather than standing up.
Acts 20:36 also reminded us of how our early Christians and apostles kneel down to pray rather than standing up, so we should always behave like them.
We should learn to bend the knee while praying; prostrating to God in prayer. All these show intense respect to God.
In as much as it's better to kneel down and pray, there are some situations where you can't kneel down to pray also.
Here are some Greek words I learnt today:
Piptó (pip-to) / petó (pet'-o) which means "fell on his face"
tithemi (tith'-ay-mee) which means "to kneel"
Kárá (kaw -rah') which means "bend the knee"
Here are some biblical verses shared today
- Matthew 6:5
- Matthew 6:8
- Acts of the Apostles 20:36
- Matthew 26:39
- Psalm 95:6
- Mark 11:24
Thanks for reading and have a nice day 👍
