Every person on the earth’s surface should understand that we all need the salvation that God offers. No man will ever end in heaven if he or she does not receive the salvation of God through Jesus Christ.
It is the mercy of God that will help us. We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We have gone astray from the path of righteousness. We need the salvation from Jesus Christ. When we willingly accept the salvation of God through Jesus Christ, he will wash us clean of all our sins and deliver us from all unrighteousness.
Obedience to the doctrines of God is one of the ways we can receive the salvation of God. We must be willing to obey the commandments of God completely. We cannot refuse to obey God's commandments and expect to be saved. We must accept and follow the doctrines.
The thief on the cross didn't have such an opportunity to listen to the doctrines. It was the mercy of God that helped him. When he acknowledged that Jesus Christ was the one who could take him to paradise, he received the mercy that saved him.
We are to receive the doctrines and obey them. The doctrine teaches us to receive baptism. Let us accept the doctrines so that we will be saved.
