When we hear from the Bible, we must listen to what we are hearing so that it can benefit us. The Word of God cannot profit a person if that person does not allow what he is hearing to enter into his heart. To just hear in deception. That is what the Bible says. The Bible says that if we hear from God and then forget what we have heard, we are deceiving our own selves. We should not be self-deceivers. We should obey the word of God that we are hearing.
The be a profitable listener and a true disciple, we must practice what we are learning from the Word of God. The Word of God must have an effect in our hearts. When we hear from the Bible, we should listen. By listening, we allow the word of God which we are hearing to penetrate into our minds and make us live our lives according to the doctrines of God. The Bible says that we must be doers of the word. Doers of the Word of God are those who listens and obey the doctrines.
