We do need people in our lives, but we need God most. Friends are good but let God be our best friend. Building the relationship that connect us with God is more profitable and rewarding that building relationship that only soothes our emotional impulse. There is a great necessity in our lives to get along with other people but we do have a greater necessity to have a good relationship with God.
Peer pressure can be helpful and it can also be damning. It is the way that we manage the peer influences around us that determines what we are going to get from it. There are some people who have learnt bad behaviors just because of the kind of friends he get along with. There are those who learn to become good children to their parents because of the kind of friends they have.
Friends are good but we need God more than anything else. We must follow God before following others. When we follow God, we will be able to follow others without turning against God.
