Holy week or unholy week? What could make a week holy and another not holy? Or because we are not actually saying that a week is unholy, what could we then mean when we adjure some week holy? In the year, if one out of the 52 weeks is termed holy, then the other ones are actually unholy going by that assertion. What is it that qualifies that holy week as holy? In the sight of God, is there any week that holy while the others are unholy? I thistle that it is our actions and reactions that makes a certain week holy. There is no week that is not holy. We can serve God in any of those weeks. We are not acceptable during some weeks and then unacceptable during some.
The world should accept the Savior that was born in the person of Jesus Christ and follow His doctrines rather than magnify the week which is assumed to be His birth period. The important factor in obeying what the Lord Jesus Christ came to teach us. Some people do not follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. They still live their lives in sin but they magnify and honour the week of His birth or His death assuming that it is the holy week. This practice will not give us any benefits. We are just observing religious activities without actually benefiting from the birth of Jesus Christ.
I will advise that we lift our eyes from the dates and fix them on the real substance. The real substance is the Lord Jesus Christ. He was born to save us from sins. Are you saved as a person? Do you recognize and allow his lordship in your life? Follow Jesus Christ and obey His commandments. That is profitable than observing days and times.
