There is glory that is reserved for the suffering if the suffering comes from God. When we suffer as christians we are not suffering as victims, we know that the Bible has promised us a glory if we suffer for the sake of the gospel. Our experiences in this world are not just coincidental, our Father in heaven knows the things that we are going through.
God gives us suffering because the Lord Jesus Christ told us that whatever we have left in this world, he will give us a hundredfold alongside persecution. Persecution is one of the certain parts of our lives as christians. The Apostle Peter said that after we have suffered a while, God will settle us. So there is suffering accompanying our walk with God.
Suffering makes us learn to trust God more and to depend on Him. When we pass through suffering, we are learning virtues like patience and others which are essential in making us profitable brethren in the body of Christ.
