When I ran my businesses in the past I would frequently give out Christmas bonuses out in the form or $2 bills. People always loved getting them, and they were always fresh from the bank. They were never circulated... I always thought it was a shame they weren't used more just like the dollar coin. Then again, our dollar coin needs to feel like a dollar coin in my opinion, not a glorified quarter. I also think there is a need for a coin worth $2.50 or $3 as they are much cheaper to produce than bills that wear out faster. And let's face it, the dollar isn't worth nearly as much as it used to be...

I'm with you. I think we should have $1, $2.50, and $5 coins, then the first bill should be the $10. Unfortunately, it'll never happen. Too many special interest groups controlling the process.

That is awesome that you paid the bonuses as $2 bills. If I ever were in that position, I'd like to think I'd so something similar.
