Hello friends:
I'm almost addicted to reviewing books, stories, and even just poems. Today I'd like to talk to you about the first book I read from the Principito Awards collection.
This is possible because the author is a friend of mine, and I've been able to enjoy other titles he's published. It's also anthologized in a poetry book for children by writers from the province, for which he was the one who selected the works and, of course, was the anthologist.
He is an author who not only cultivates children's literature, but also poetry and fiction for adults, and is an excellent speaker. As a competition judge, he is extremely fair, as demonstrated by his work, and the participants have appreciated his fairness.
That said, I present him:
Short Story Award, 2004. Jorge Luis Peña Reyes. The winning workbook from that year has now been published. The book is titled The King's Crown, dedicated to animals that inhabit the sea. The first story introduces the narrator, a witness character, but disguised as omniscient. When she introduces herself as Aurelia, she says she's transparent, and that's why she's been able to live among sharks, sea urchins, corals, and anemones without worrying about being attacked. She's actually a jellyfish, or jellyfish. She also gives a brief explanation about jellyfish.
That year, the competition jury was composed of Lesbia de la Fé, Reynaldo García Blanco, and Niurkis Pérez García, three great writers in our country. The editor was Antonio Gutiérrez, whom we discussed a few days ago, and the illustrations were by José Ernesto Carralero.
The second story in this book focuses on the specific characteristics of sea urchins, from birth, who their enemies are, what they eat, where they can hide, and where they most like to be. It's a toy book, as its author said, an educational book for children to learn that the sea isn't just for swimming during vacation time, but that creatures live within it, a whole blue kingdom in saltwater.
In the third installment, they humanize sharks and attribute human characteristics to them, such as voices, always letting readers know that being around a shark can be dangerous and challenging. However, the shark belongs to the marine fauna and as such, its species must be preserved.
In the rest of the book, you can learn about octopuses, squid, and other animals, as well as how various fish manage to evade hooks, although some always fall for the final bait, making for a fun and informative read.
Jorge even humanizes the characters so much that he turns them into ambassadors for other worlds, or rather, other seas.
This book is exquisite to read. Each story takes you into a salty blue universe where you also gain insight into the ocean floor.
I'm sure this award was very well awarded, and the children enjoyed and continue to enjoy these adventures.

Casi me vuelvo adicta a reseñar libros, historias y hasta un solo poema. Hoy me gustaría hablarles del primer libro que me leí de la colección de los premios Principito.
Es posible porque el autor es amigo mío y he podido disfrutar de otros títulos que él ha publicado. Además de estar antologada en un libro de poesía para niños de escritores de la provincia en el cual él fue quien seleccionó las obras y por supuesto fue el antologador.
Es un autor que no solo cultiva el género para niños, también la poesía y narrativa para adultos, además de ser un excelente conferencista. Como jurado en concursos es sumamente justo, así se ha demostrado en lo que ha trabajado y los participantes han agradecido su justeza.
Dicho esto, lo presento:
Premio cuento, 2004. Jorge Luis Peña Reyes. Ya sale publicado el cuaderno ganador de ese año, el libro se titula La corona del Rey, está dedicado a los animales que habitan en el mar y el primer cuento es la presentación del narrador o narradora, personaje testigo, pero disfrazado de omnisciente, porque cuando se presenta con el nombre de Aurelia dice que es transparente y que por ello ha podido vivir entre tiburones, erizos, corales y anémonas sin preocupación que alguien la ataque. Y realmente es una medusa o Aguamala, además hace una pequeña explicación de las medusas.
En ese año, el jurado del concurso estuvo integrado por Lesbia de la Fé, Reynaldo García Blanco y Niurkis Pérez García, tres grandes de las letras en nuestro país. La edición estuvo a cargo de Antonio Gutiérrez, de quien ya hablamos hace unos días y las ilustraciones fueron de José Ernesto Carralero.
El segundo cuento de este cuaderno, se detiene a las características específicas de los erizos de mar, desde que nacen, quienes son sus enemigos, de que se alimentan, donde pueden esconderse y donde mayormente les gusta estar. Es un libro juguete, como dijera su autor, un libro instructivo para que los niños conozcan que el mar no es solo para bañarse en tiempo de vacaciones, sino que en él viven criaturas, todo un reino azul en agua salada.
En la tercera entrega humanizan a los tiburones y le atribuyen características humanas, como las voces, siempre dejando saber a los lectores que estar cerca de un tiburón puede resultar peligroso y desafiante. No obstante, que el escualo pertenece a la fauna marina y como tal hay que conservar su especie.
En el resto del libro se puede conocer sobre los pulpos, calamares y otros animales, también de como varios peces logran burlar los anzuelos, aunque siempre alguno cae en la carnada final, resultando así un rato de lectura y conocimiento.
Incluso, tanto humaniza Jorgito a los personajes que los convierte en embajadores de otros mundos, o, mejor dicho, de otros mares.
La lectura de este libro es exquisita. Cada historia te va llevando hacia un universo azul salado donde además obtienes conocimientos del fondo marino.
Estoy segura, que este lauro, fue muy bien otorgado y los niños disfrutaron y disfrutan estas aventuras.
Un abrazo enorme hasta que nos volvamos a encontrar siempre en las páginas de un libro.
