Un libro que me atrapó por completo y que abarca una extensa investigación sobre la religión, la mitología y el folclore de muchas culturas, es innegable que ha dejado una huella muy profunda en el estudio de la antropología y la literatura.
Quiero presentarles la Rama dorada, como un libro mágico de principio a fin. Aporta singularmente una enorme cantidad de información. Sin agotarnos, sin embotar nuestra mente, sino como un soplo de brisa suave que nos invita a reflexionar desde el primer momento.
El autor quiere mostrarnos un análisis comparativo de las creencias y rituales de las sociedades antiguas y contemporáneas, busca además patrones universales que revelan las profundas raíces comunes de la experiencia humana en la magia y las experiencias espirituales.
Adentrandonos en la obra podemos ver que se divide en varias secciones donde va explorando varios temas, como la magia, la religión, y el sacrificio, nos ofrece un amplio recorrido por la historia de las ideas y una crítica sobre cómo las civilizaciones han intentado entender y controlar el mundo a su alrededor por lo que es un libro defendido por muchos, impugnado por otros pero finalmente visto como un clásico de carácter universal.
Frazer deja ver sus argumentos sobre como la humanidad ha pasado por tres etapas evolutivas: la magia, la religión y la ciencia, por lo que además cada cultura refleja este desarrollo de manera única.
