Reflections in a Silent Pool
During one of my walks around the hotel, I stopped for a moment beside the main swimming pool. The water was calm, creating a beautiful reflection of the surroundings. In it, the lounge chairs placed around the pool could be clearly seen, mirrored on the surface as if they were part of a second, quieter world.
This is one of the most beautiful areas of the hotel. The atmosphere is usually wonderful, with guests relaxing by the water, enjoying the sun and the sea breeze. Looking at the reflection, it was easy to imagine those better days when the place was full of life and movement.
Unfortunately, tourism is currently at a standstill in most of Cuba, and the consequences are visible everywhere. Beyond the economic losses, there is also the feeling of seeing places designed to welcome people remaining almost empty. Still, the reflections remain, preserving a little of the beauty that made these spaces special in the first place.
The photos were taken with my mobile phone, and for the English version I used Google Translate.

Reflejos en una piscina silenciosa
Durante uno de mis recorridos por el hotel, me detuve unos instantes junto a la piscina principal. El agua estaba tranquila y creaba un hermoso reflejo del entorno. En él podían verse claramente las camas y tumbonas colocadas alrededor de la piscina, reflejadas sobre la superficie como si formaran parte de un segundo mundo más sereno.
Esta es una de las áreas más hermosas del hotel. Normalmente el ambiente es extraordinario, con turistas descansando junto al agua, disfrutando del sol y de la brisa marina. Al observar el reflejo era fácil imaginar aquellos días mejores en que este lugar estaba lleno de vida y movimiento.
Lamentablemente, el turismo se encuentra prácticamente detenido en gran parte de Cuba y las consecuencias son visibles en todas partes. Más allá de las pérdidas económicas, también existe la sensación de ver espacios creados para recibir personas permaneciendo casi vacíos. Aun así, los reflejos continúan ahí, conservando parte de la belleza que hizo especiales estos lugares desde el principio.
