A Moving Shadow in the Wind
While passing near the entrance of Plaza Las Morlas, in Punta Hicacos, Varadero, I noticed the shadow of an ornamental plant projected onto the ground. At first glance it seemed like a simple image, but the closer I looked, the more interesting it became.
The morning wind was moving the leaves constantly, and somehow that movement could also be felt in the shadow itself. The shapes were not completely still or perfectly defined. Instead, they seemed alive, changing with every gust of wind that passed through the plant.
I liked the idea that even in a photograph, something so subtle could still be perceived. A shadow usually freezes a moment, but this one almost manages to transmit movement. It was one of those ordinary scenes that suddenly becomes worth capturing just because of the way light, wind, and shapes come together.
The photos were taken with my mobile phone, and for the English version I used Google Translate.

Una sombra movida por el viento
Mientras pasaba cerca de la entrada de Plaza Las Morlas, en Punta Hicacos, Varadero, noté la sombra de una planta ornamental proyectada sobre el suelo. A simple vista parecía una imagen sencilla, pero mientras más la observaba, más interesante me resultaba.
El viento de la mañana movía constantemente las hojas y, de alguna manera, ese movimiento también parecía sentirse en la propia sombra. Las formas no estaban completamente quietas ni perfectamente definidas. Más bien parecían vivas, cambiando con cada ráfaga que atravesaba la planta.
Me gustó la idea de que incluso en una fotografía pudiera percibirse algo tan sutil. Una sombra normalmente congela un instante, pero esta casi logra transmitir movimiento. Fue una de esas escenas cotidianas que de pronto se vuelven dignas de capturar simplemente por la manera en que se unen la luz, el viento y las formas.
Las fotos fueron tomadas con el móvil y para la versión en inglés utilicé el traductor de Google.
