Who says that this contest does not go beyond the mere capture of the shadow? In the hunt for the immaterial substance one encounters so many possible paths!
I like the shadow to converse, to associate, to mean and therefore I wanted to contribute, from my vision as a creator, a perspective that can complement the image from the artistic point of view.
Taking a photograph of a shadow can go further. This is the case. Continuing the series Dialogues of shadow, in this new installment I want to talk about ephemeral art and the shadow is that signifier that has a part between ephemeral and unperishable depending on how we understand it.
In the artistic universe, ephemeral refers to the result that is destined to disappear. According to the history of art, we understand that the artist, as a creative being, has wanted to perpetuate his work for posterity. However, some of the currents of the twentieth century put an end to this sense of permanence of the work. In the 1960s, the Fluxus group, under the guidance of Joseph Beuys, decided to break with "living room" art and take the work outdoors, to unconventional spaces. It was thus that performance art came to life, street art, povera and ephemeral art was offered as a possible way.
In the sense of handling the referents that I try to incorporate to this photographic proposal, I must say that the capture of these shadows well express that experience of producing values in a communicative sense where the work is exhausted. I try to talk about the paradigm of the perishable from the construction by means of perishable codes in itself, in this case, the shadow. In the absence of the luminous source it would not exist. That is why I am interested in showing a shadow achieved under sunlight, which disappears if a cloud arrives and from which I try to symbolize the short life cycle of plants as opposed to objects of longer duration, but that understood in the shadow are united in a concept of the circumstantial.
The photograph comes to represent that “conservable” part of the work, image of the living and not the living itself (if we are willing to see the shadow as that living agent that in this opportunity represents the stem of a flower).
So, taking the shadows of the clothes hanging, I discovered an image that referred me to the visual construction of a flower, a conversation between shadow and real object, which exists as long as the sun shines and disappears when a cloud gets in the way. So ephemeral is the shadow!

¿Quién dice que este concurso no va más allá de la mera captura de la sombra? ¡En la caza de la sustancia inmaterial se encuentra una con tantos caminos posibles!
Me gusta que la sombra converse, asocie, signifique y por ello he querido aportar, desde mi visión como creadora, una perspectiva que pueda complementar a la imagen desde lo artístico.
Tomar la fotografía de una sombra puede ir mas allá. Es este el caso.
Continuando la serie Diálogos de sombra, en esta nueva entrega quiero hablar del arte efímero y de la sombra desde ese significante que posee entre efímera e imperecedera según la entendamos.
En el universo artístico lo efímero se refiere al resultado que está destinado a desaparecer. Según la historia del arte, comprendemos que el artista, como ser creador, ha querido perpetuar su obra para la posteridad. Sin embargo, algunas corrientes del siglo XX dieron al traste con este sentido de permanencia de la obra. En la década del sesenta el grupo Fluxus, bajo la guia de Joseph Beuys, decidió romper con el arte de "sala" y llevar la obra al exterior, a espacios para nada convencionales. Fue así que cobró vida el performance, el arte callejero, povera y lo efímero se ofreció como camino posible.
En el sentido de manejar los referentes que trato de incorporar a esta propuesta fotográfica, debo decir que las capturas de estas sombras bien expresan esa experiencia de producir valores en sentido comunicativo donde se agota la obra. Intento hablar del paradigma de lo perecedero desde la construcción mediante códigos percederos en si, en este caso, la sombra. En ausencia de la fuente luminosa no existiría. Por eso me interesa mostrar una sombra lograda bajo la luz solar, que desaparece si llega una nube y desde la que trato de simbolizar el ciclo corto de la vida de las plantas en contraposición con los objetos de mayor duración, pero que entendidos en la sombra se aúnan en un concepto de lo circunstancial.
La fotografía viene a representar esa parte "conservable" de la obra, imagen de lo vivo y lo no vivo en sí (si nos disponemos a ver a la sombra como ese agente vivo que en esta oportunidad representa el tallo de una flor).
Así es que, tomando las sombras de la ropa tendida, descubrí una imagen que me remitió a la construcción visual de una flor, conversación entre sombra y objeto real, que existe mientras el sol ilumine y desaparece cuando una nube se interpone. ¡Tan efímera es la sombra!
