The Snake And The Hummingbird
These days I was walking along an avenue, I was going to buy some groceries with two nieces who accompanied me and, after shopping, they invited me to eat ice cream. While they were walking, I was looking at some stores; my nieces had gone ahead of me and I got distracted. When I turned to look for them, I found this figure on the ground. I thought it was a giant bird coming at me. When I looked in the sky, the sun bewitched me; the light was so strong that I could not decipher what I was seeing.

La Serpiente Y El Colibrí
En estos días paseando por una avenida, iba a comprar algunos víveres con dos sobrinas que me acompañaban y, luego de las compras, me invitaban a comer helados. Mientras que caminaban, yo iba viendo algunas tiendas; mis sobrinas habían adelantado el paso y me distraje. Cuando volteo a buscarlas, me encuentro con esta figura en el suelo. Pensaba que era un pájaro gigante que se me venía encima. Cundo buscaba en el cielo, el sol me hechizaba; la luz era tan fuerte que no podía descifrar lo que veía.
Well, then I got a few shots on the ground, and I moved out of the way to a place where I could get out of the sun. So I could see, it was a huge mechanical bird that was in the heights, resting its shadow on the pavement. Then I remembered that this mechanical sculpture is a representation of two animals, symbolizing the fauna of our country, which also has many others. This is a sculpture made by the Italian sculptor Domenico Silvestro and is part of one of the many works of art that the Caracas Metro has in each of its stations.
Bueno, entonces logré algunas tomas en el piso, y me aparté hacia un lugar donde me cubriera del sol. Así pude ver, era un enorme pájaro mecánico que estaba en las alturas, posando su sombra en el pavimento. Después recuerdo que esta escultura mecánica es una representación de dos animales, que simbolizan la fauna de nuestro país, que además tenemos muchos otros. Esta es una escultura realizada por el escultor italiano Doménico Silvestro y forma parte de una de tantas obras de arte, que posee el Metro de Caracas, en cada una de sus estaciones.
So, dear fellow shadowhunters, this is how I was able to catch my hummingbird before the snake ate it.
