It was one of those long Wednesdays when I could barely lift my legs after work. I was totally exhausted. Just as I dropped my bag and reached for some rest, I sat down tiredly with my legs stretched out. Suddenly, NEPA struck again! The light just blinked out as if they had a personal grudge against me. My husband, ever the hero, grabbed a torchlight and placed it right behind my back. My children rallied around me to massage my feet, despite not being really strong. Suddenly, my two-year-old daughter squealed, pointing at the wall excitedly as if she just discovered a new cartoon character.
Her laughter filled the room, bright and infectious. Her brother joined in, rolling with laughter, while my husband and I stared at each other, clueless. Then came the grand revelation—my daughter squealed, "Mummy is a black monster!" I turned sharply, and there it was—my head casting a black shadow on the wall like from a horror movie. Honesty, I couldn't even be mad. I laughed so much while trying to rest that tears rolled down my "monster" cheeks!
This is my entry to the @shadowhunters SMASh Contest—Round 395.
