i took this set at Forsand school in Norway in May. we were out walking in the nice spring evening and came to the school with this cool shadow. the low sun was shining through a slatted wooden separating wall casting a shadow on the brick wall as well as the asphalt
i like the contrast of the shadow/light combo on the wall compared to that on the asphalt. but the what interests me most is the resemblance of the pattern cast on the wall and the patterns of the bricks and mortar of the wall itself
a new diagonal pattern emerges in this black and white photo as the patterns of the shadow/light melds with the brick and mortar pattern. this is mainly due to the difference between the light on the mortar as opposed to the bricks. the pattern on the asphalt is not too shabby either
aren't shadows fun!
