Happy weekend friends of Shadow Hunters, we are resuming our contributions to the SMASH contest on Saturdays. I try to keep to the days when I share the shadows I find during my workdays, whether at the university or when I work in the lab, but this week and probably next week I will be quite busy, but we can always make an effort to dedicate a few lines to these wonderful initiatives. Just yesterday, when I had no activities at the university, I didn't take advantage of the moment to go hunting, but fate had a great opportunity in store for me to share with you in this SMASH round #428.
I was taking out my clothes to put them in the wash since I'll be going to university every day again next week, so one of my priorities was washing my lab coat, which gets so dirty with every experiment that I need to wash it at home. That laundry basket is in my brother's room, and it was already getting dark. That's when I was treated to the city's sunset scene, with the sun beginning to dip behind the buildings but casting its last glimmers of light over the city. The shadows of my plants and the window bars were projected into the room through the window.

At first, I didn't think it was a shadow worth photographing, but given the position of the sun, practically on the horizon and illuminating the entire expanse of my window, you could see how the shadow lengthened from the window, across the room, up the bed, and finally projected onto the wall. It looks great because you can see the shadows of my plants right on the wall, which reminded me that they had already had a lot of sun and it was time to refresh them with some water, since these last few weeks have been really hot, with lots of sun, few cloudy days, and practically no rain. In the end, I liked the whole composition for this SMASH contest, because, as you know, I love the sunsets in my city, and whenever I can, I photograph them to build a sunset gallery. The highlight is undoubtedly this magnificent shadow cast by my brother's bedroom window. He's lucky because I don't have this view from my room, since the entire building is U-shaped, and therefore my window has a frontal view of the apartments, blocking my view of the city. That's why I cherish these moments so much, since I can't fully enjoy them from my window.

Feliz fin de semana amigos de Shadow Hunters, retomamos nuevamente nuestros aportes al concurso SMASH los días sábados, intento mantener los días cuando les comparto las sombras que voy encontrando en mis días laborales ya sea en la facultad o cuando trabajo en el laboratortio, pero esta semana y seguramente la que viene voy a estar bastante ocupado, pero siempre podemos hacer un esfuerzo para dedicarle unas lineas a estas maravillosas iniciativas. Justo ayer que no tuve actividades en la universidad no aproveché el momento para salir de cacería pero el destino me guardo una genial oportunidad para compartirles en este SMASH round #428.
Estaba sacando la ropa para ponerla a lavar ya que esta próxima semana nuevamente estaré yendo a la universidad todos los días, así que una de mis prioridades fue poner a lavar la bata de laboratorio que con cada experimento termina tan sucia que necesito lavarla en casa. Esa cesta de la ropa sucia esta en el cuarto de mi hermano y ya estaba atardeciendo, fue allí donde me conseguí con la escena del atardecer de la ciudad, con el sol comenzando a ocultarse detrás de los edificios pero proyectando sus últimos destellos de luz sobre la ciudad y entrando en el cuarto a través de la ventana se proyectaba la sombra de mis plantas y los barrotes de la ventana.

En un primer momento no me parecía una sombra que valiera la pena tomar, pero dada la posición del sol, prácticamente en el horizonte e iluminando toda la extensión de mi ventana, se podía ver como se alargaba la sombra desde la ventana atravezando el cuarto, subiendo por la cama hasta terminar de proyectarse en la pared y se ve genial por que justo en la pared se observan las sombras de mis plantas, lo que me recordó que ya habían llevado mucho sol y era hora de refrescarlas con un poco de agua ya que estas últimas semanas los días han sido realmente calurosos, con mucho sol, pocos días nublados y prácticamente ningún día de lluvia. Al final me gustó toda la composición para este concurso SMASH, porque como saben me encantan los atardeceres de mi ciudad y siempre que puedo las fotografío para ir armando una galería de atardeceres y el culmen es sin duda esta magnífica sombra generada desde la ventana del cuarto de mi hermano, es afortunado porque desde mi cuarto no tengo esta vista ya que toda la estructura del edificio se cierra en U y por tanto mi ventana tiene una vista frontal de los apartamentos cerrándome la vista a la ciudad. Es por eso que aprovecho y atesoro en gran medida estos momentos, ya que no puedo disfrutarlos totalmente desde mi ventana.
