Hello friends of Shadow Hunters, welcome to my participation in the Smash contest in its round #388. This time I bring you a shadow that marks for me the arrival of autumn. It turns out I had to go up to the lab because they were going to cut off the power, and I had to be careful that the reagents in my refrigerator wouldn't defrost. It already happened to a professor who is literally my mentor, and unfortunately, the power went out in his lab and he lost all his reagents! He told me with a tone between sadness and helplessness: "I've lost an important asset of my lab." You can't imagine how bad I felt, and I stayed up late helping him try to recover as much as I could. When I finished, I made sure all the reagents in my lab were frozen. From there, I went to the office to say goodbye. As I walked through the hallway that connects the two buildings, the administrative and laboratory buildings, I saw this amazing shadow projecting over the railing and gratings of the bridge that connects the two buildings.
I liked the composition of this shadow, first because of the geometric shapes of the grating, and later because it seems to merge with the shadow of the large trees in the garden. In Venezuela, there is only the dry and rainy season, which should begin this last week of August. In other words, it's the equivalent of the arrival of autumn in the global north. It's my favorite season because many of my achievements and milestone events in my professional life have occurred around this time of year, so it was inevitable for me to capture this moment and share it with you. Hola amigos de Shadow Hunters, bienvenidos a mi participación al concurso Smash en su round#388 y en esta ocasión les traigo una sombra que marca para mi el advenimiento del otoño, resulta que tuve que subir al laboratorio porque iban a cortar el suministro eléctrico y tenía que estar atento a que los reactivos de mi nevera no se descongelaran, ya le paso a un profesor que es literalmente mi mentor y desgraciadamente se fue la luz en su laboratorio y perdió todos sus reactivos! Me lo comentó con un tono entre tristeza e impotencia: "He perdido un patrimonio importante de mi laboratorio". No se imaginan lo mal que me sentí y me quedé hasta tarde ayudándolo a tratar de recuperar todo lo que pude, cuando terminé me aseguré que todos los reactivos de mi laboratorio estuvieran congelados y de alli fui a la dirección para despedirme y mientras pasaba por el pasillo que conecta a los 2 edificios, el administrativo y el de laboratorios que vi esta genial sombra proyectándose sobre la baranda y rejillas del puente que conecta ambos edificios.
Me gustó la composición de esta sombra primero por las formas geométricas de la rejilla y más adelante parece fusionarse con la sombra de los grandes árboles del jardín. En Venezuela solo existe la temporada seca y lluviosa que debería comenzar esta última semana de agosto, en otras palabras es el equivalente a la llegada del otoño en el norte global. Es mi temporada favorita porque muchos de mis logros y eventos canónicos de mi vida profesional han sucedido en estas fechas así que fue inevitable para mi capturar este momento y compartirlo con ustedes, espero que les haya gustado y que al igual que yo tengan algún sentimiento especial por estas fechas del año.
