We are in the weekend, but as you well know, work sometimes has no fixed day. There are times when, while others enjoy a well-deserved rest, we have to get ahead and fulfill our responsibilities. We work mainly for markets and hotel chains, and in these cases, the effort does not understand calendars. This weekend was precisely one of those moments.
The night before, my phone rang and, upon answering it, I received the news that we had to clean two tanks. These were located near the Sigo market in the Parque Costa Azul shopping center. Without hesitation, I asked the time we had to start and immediately called the guys who are part of our team. To my delight, they all responded immediately, always willing and enthusiastic. That is what I value most about this group of young people: despite their age, they have demonstrated a deep sense of responsibility and an exceptional commitment to teamwork.
That same night, my husband and I went to my father's house to prepare everything we needed. The pumps, brushes, bleach, sodium hypochlorite, buckets, gloves and other tools were carefully checked and packed. We didn't want to leave anything to chance, as the success of the day depended on being well organized. We knew that, in order to deliver on time and with quality, we had to be ready at the crack of dawn.
On Saturday morning at 6:30 a.m., we started picking everyone up at their homes. Although the weather was a bit cloudy, it did not allow our motivation to fade. We arrived at the Sigo market, spirits high and ready to begin. Everyone knew exactly what to do, as the team is well synchronized and experienced in these tasks. Coordination is key on jobs like this, and our group understands this perfectly.

Estamos en fin de semana, pero como bien saben, el trabajo a veces no tiene día fijo. Hay ocasiones en las que, mientras otros disfrutan de un merecido descanso, nosotros debemos salir adelante y cumplir con nuestras responsabilidades. Trabajamos principalmente para mercados y cadenas hoteleras, y en estos casos, el esfuerzo no entiende de calendarios. Este fin de semana, precisamente, fue uno de esos momentos.
La noche anterior, mi teléfono sonó y, al atenderlo, recibí la noticia de que teníamos que limpiar dos tanques. Estos se encontraban ubicados cerca del mercado de Sigo del centro comercial Parque Costa Azul. Sin dudarlo, pregunté la hora a la que debíamos comenzar y enseguida llamé a los muchachos que forman parte de nuestro equipo. Para mi agrado, todos respondieron de inmediato, siempre dispuestos y con entusiasmo. Eso es lo que más valoro de este grupo de jóvenes: a pesar de su edad, han demostrado un profundo sentido de responsabilidad y un compromiso excepcional con el trabajo en equipo.
Esa misma noche, mi esposo y yo fuimos a casa de mi padre para preparar todo lo necesario. Las bombas, los cepillos, el cloro, el hipoclorito de sodio, los cubos, los guantes y demás herramientas fueron cuidadosamente revisados y empacados. No queríamos dejar nada al azar, ya que el éxito de la jornada dependía de estar bien organizados. Sabíamos que, para cumplir a tiempo y con calidad, debíamos estar listos al amanecer.
El sábado a las 6:30 de la mañana, comenzamos a recoger a todos en sus casas. A pesar de que el clima estaba algo nublado, no permitió que nuestra motivación se desvaneciera. Llegamos al mercado de Sigo, con el ánimos en alto y listos para comenzar. Cada uno sabía exactamente lo que debía hacer, ya que el equipo está bien sincronizado y tiene experiencia en estas tareas. La coordinación es clave en trabajos como este, y nuestro grupo lo comprende a la perfección.
The first step was to empty the tank completely. Once the water was gone, we proceeded down with the brushes to clean each of the walls. The objective was to remove any accumulated residue and leave the surface completely free of dirt.
El primer paso fue vaciar el tanque por completo. Una vez sin agua, procedimos a bajar con los cepillos para limpiar cada una de las paredes. El objetivo era remover cualquier residuo acumulado y dejar la superficie completamente libre de suciedad.
After intense and detailed work, we extracted the muddy water with the motor pumps, making sure that no trace of impurities remained.
Después de un trabajo intenso y detallado, extrajimos el agua fangosa con las motobombas, asegurándonos de que no quedara rastro de impurezas.
The last step was to apply the chlorine and hypochlorite, which are essential to ensure disinfection. We then closed the tank and allowed the chemicals to work before allowing it to be filled again with potable water.
El último paso fue aplicar el cloro y el hipoclorito, que son esenciales para garantizar la desinfección. Posteriormente, cerramos el tanque y dejamos que los productos químicos actuarán antes de permitir que se llenara nuevamente con agua potable.
The joint effort yielded excellent results. The tank was impeccable and the customers, as always, were very satisfied with our work. We are very proud to know that they consider us a reference in cases like this, because they know they can trust our responsibility and commitment.
El esfuerzo conjunto dio excelentes resultados. El tanque quedó impecable y los clientes, como siempre, muy satisfechos con nuestro trabajo. Es un gran orgullo saber que nos consideran una referencia en casos como este, porque saben que pueden confiar en nuestra responsabilidad y compromiso.
At the end of the day, we met to talk about how it went and if there were any setbacks about the work done. The satisfaction of successful completion and the team bonding left us all with a sense of fulfillment. It was a joint effort that paid off.
And that is how part of our weekend went, dear friends. Although it was a day of hard work, it is always worth the effort when there are clear goals and a team willing to give their best. Now I am about to enjoy a well-deserved rest, to recharge my batteries and start a new productive week.

Y así transcurrió parte de nuestro fin de semana, queridos amigos. Aunque fue un día de arduo trabajo, siempre vale la pena el esfuerzo cuando hay metas claras y un equipo dispuesto a dar lo mejor. Ahora me dispongo a disfrutar de un merecido descanso, para cargar energías y comenzar una nueva semana productiva.
