RE: What's Your Plan?

in The Pub3 months ago (edited)

I haven't changed anything yet. Since I still work full time AND draw my Social Security benefits, I can afford what I need.

What it may affect later is that I was toying with the idea of retiring from my job next year. Depending on how things go between now and then though, when it gets closer to time I may decide that is not the thing to do just yet.

Of course this is always dependent on my having a choice about what happens to my job. Many folks believe they get will get to make that choice only to find at some point, their company lets them go for whatever reason, so sometimes you think you will have a choice.... and then you don't.

I hope you can retire when you want and not when they force you to. It's terrible to lose your job close to retirement as no one hires you. Fingers crossed for you Jacey!

Thank you! I have worked for this company 28 years, but that is no longer a guarantee for anything in this world. I haven't heard any rumors like that about my own company, but I am hearing a lot about how it is happening all around, so there is no way to feel totally safe about it.
