In history, few women have been more famous for their great beauty than Nefertiti, the queen-pharaoh. "The beautiful one has arrived" was her name, and despite her political and spiritual importance as a reformer of the Egyptian religious system alongside her husband, Akhenaten, Nefer is synonymous with stylization and elegance and has transcended for that reason.

For this sketch, also part of my Vogue series, I wanted to capture Queen Nefertiti in private, overwhelmed by responsibilities, feeling fragile, an ordinary woman even though she wore the same hemhen crown that only one other woman had worn some time before: Queen Hatshepsut after proclaiming herself pharaoh.

Friends of #Sketchbook, I hope you can also appreciate this work, which I don't consider finished because I still want to work on the low tones and distinguish areas of contrast in chiaroscuro. However, I still consider it worth sharing the process up to this point. I'll bring you the progress another time.

En la historia pocas mujeres han tenido mayor popularidad por su gran belleza como Nefertiti, la reina-faraón. "La bella ha llegado" significaba su nombre y, pese a su importancia política y espiritual como reformadora del sistema religioso egipcio junto a Akenaton, su esposo, Nefer es sinónimo de estilización y elegancia y ha trascendido por esa razón.

Para este boceto, perteneciente también a mi serie Vogue, he querido plasmar a la reina Neferneferuatón en la intimidad, agobiada por las responsabilidades, sintiéndose frágil, una mujer común y corriente aunque llevara sobre su cabeza la misma corona hemhen que únicamente otra mujer había utilizado tiempo antes , la reina Hatshepsut tras proclamarse faraón.

Amigos de #Sketchbook, es mi deseo que puedan apreciar también este trabajo, el cual no considero terminado pues aún quiero trabajar en los tonos bajos y distinguir zonas de contraste en clarososcuros. Pero, igualmente considero válido compartir el proceso hasta este punto. En otra oportunidad les traeré la evolución del mismo.
