We've all seen the boring, drab posts on X about how people need to do x, y, and z, to get an enormous amount of Ferrari's and bling. It can also be frustrating that everything you try, it just doesn't work. I think Andrew Tate is probably the worst offender for that. Whilst he has some great messages for men along the lines of Stoicism, he has some terrible ones when it comes to dealing with women and monogamy. In fact some downright trashy thoughts on the matter.
So today I'm going to list 5 ways to level your life up that are simple, smart, and anyone can do. It's not about "doing it" it's getting you prepared and in the best mindset to be able to do it.
So, here we go.
1. Sit back and listen for a while. Instead of being the one that talks, sit and read the room, watch what people are saying, and just soak up the energy
Learning to listen to people is not a lost skill like some people say it is, because even when I was young no-one seemed to listen to anyone, it's just that we were in person and it felt less lonely.
But listening to someone, truly listening, can be the difference between a new idea come to the surface that has the potential to be successful, or just a friendly encounter with someone you know. I say this because this is what happened to me.
When you listen to what people say then you can ascertain their true intentions over the on the surface fluff. You'll never know where a conversation with someone about their frustrating day can lead to.
Listening is a very, very undervalued skill.
2. Sleep lots
Okay, so don't like sleep the entire day away, this is a disastrous idea. But make sure you get the sleep that you need. A lot of unpreparedness can be put down to the fact that you lack sleep. Believe me, this is something I know all too well, with deadlines and responsibilities.
But with lots of sleep and a well rested person you can move mountains with the mind alone. It comes highly recommended. Just don't abuse it with substances. Which brings me to my next one.
3. Limit your drinking / drugs / etc
I'd like to say you shouldn't be poisoning your body at all, but then I do realise I can be a bit of a purist and perhaps a little bit of fun doesn't do any harm I guess. But you will be surprised what drugs and alcohol do to your mind.
As an example I can remember 6 months of being completely sober from all substances and I could feel that my mind was a million times faster, healthier, and could process things it never used to be able to. I swear it's a horrible poison if you abuse it.
4. Read and watch interesting stuff
Now I don't mean watch crap TV or movies (but one here or there never goes amiss) but don't be put off by watching a documentary that expands your knowledge. I'm always reading sea faring books about the era of discovery when Captain Cook was a big thing. I only learned a couple of years back that Sir Francis Drake (heralded a hero here in Britain) is regarded is a horrible nasty pirate by the Spanish, which is sensible since he was the biggest plunderer of their gold ships.
But yeah, reading and watching stuff that you are interested in that isn't just mind rot really helps.
5. Judge less
I'm so conflicted over this one. My life has taught me that quick judgements can be the difference between being scammed and being safe. My work in the past however has taught me to be non-judgemental whilst dealing with people but my personal life conflicts with that notion from what I've experienced.
That's why I've written judge less. Meaning that quick judgements can also get you into hot water. For instance flying off the handle in an argument when there is obviously more information needed in a scenario. I guess what I mean to say is analyse situations better, which would mean holding off judgement until you have all the facts behind you.
I judge more than I've ever done now because you can generally get an idea who people are and what they are about by spending ten minutes with them, and that's through age and experience with life I think!
And that's it!
Do these 5 things and you'll at least 10x your happiness but also production too!
Hope you have a good evening!
