Monarch from DC Multiverse McFarlane Toys
Was sad when this and other new DC McFarlane figures were recently released as there was no more budget (or space) for new collectibles. Monarch was a major villain in the 90s comic books and was iconic for that era. His story arcs were mostly terrible but his armor design and comic art were mostly good. The very cool costume and the nostalgia it elicits made me want this figure.
So when he was set on sale at almost 50% off, I scrimped on food and gathered enough resources to buy him.

The packaging is also excellent, though I doubt that the JLA logo used is appropriate for its time in the comics. Still, I love that logo, IIRC it was used in the 70s to 80s JLA books.

The version of Monarch depicted at the back of the box had a more decent storyline (Countdown) compared to his first appearance and other stories (Extreme Justice, I'm looking at you and your terrible art).

All in all, a worthy addition to the collection. Happy to have been alive long enough to acquire this fine action figure.
