Have you ever thought about swallowing a robot? It might sound crazy, but this is now the reality of the future of medicine, and it is going to make those awkward visits to the hospital a whole lot easier I think
I found a couple of videos of this new idea and technology on YouTube and I was really surprised to see the level of advancement in medicine. The thought of having a robot inside of me is a bit troubling but for me, as long as it's an effective method and helps more people, I would definitely encourage it.
The small robot is encased in a pill. When swallowed by the patient, this little robot travels down through your stomach and allows doctors to get an ulcer-free view of what's happening inside of you and it's pretty much devoid of all the fuss of old practices.
The robot pill shaped kinda like a regular pill and with similar size so you won't have much difficulty swallowing it. Then, once it's in your stomach, it starts to explore. It has these small thrusters, sort of like mini jet engines to move around smoothly and take a good look at everything on the inside.
Equipped with a camera and LED lights, this robot can capture clear images of your stomach lining, just like any other endoscope. But instead of having a long tube going down the throat, this robot does all the work from the inside, making the whole thing way more comfortable.
The control of the robot comes rather surprisingly easily. Doctors can even use a PlayStation controller, yes you read correctly, as PS controller, the kind you use for playing video games. In that way, it becomes super user friendly, even a bit of fun.
Somebody's going to be playing GTA in your stomach soon, hahaha. It's going to be like playing a game, but instead of fighting some alien creatures, doctors examine your stomach, as simple as that.
The images that come back are sharp and detailed, allowing doctors to get a clear view of what is happening inside the stomach. Because it is free-moving, the robot covers more area and provides more information than would be otherwise possible.
When the robot's done with its job, no need to worry about getting it back out. It is designed to leave your body naturally like all the rest of your crap you digest. It comes out with your crap, no extra procedures needed.
It certainly advanced medicine to a much less invasive and more comfortable level of care. It's definitely going to change how we think about getting our stomachs checked. Just swallow the robot, and go on doing your daily activities. No more stressing or anxiety related to endoscopies.
Technology does make health care easier and much more accessible. Anything that takes out discomfort from necessary medical procedures, count me in.
Would you want this inside of you though? Let me know in the comments
