Greetings Splinterlands Players
In this opportunity I want to talk about people who play Splinterlands in low budget mode, or stingy casual players like me, or maybe you are a new player that want to try with small budget first. In my last post about Splinterlands, I said that I might need around $1.000 to build up a competitive deck of Conclave Arcana Edition, but I would not want to spend that much..
So basically if you do not wish to spend much in this game, for any kind of reasons, you can start by getting cards from rent market. But there are too many cards out there, well not that many if you have got used to this game. We can start by getting the summoners, try to rent them not at max level, but more like the highest level with the most reasonable price.
For the unit cards, you can rent them all at lowest BCX, or you buy them especially those who are hard to get from rent market. You don't have to get all, because there are Soulbound cards that you can get for free, and they are strong too.
So let me show you a battle of two players who rely heavily on Soulbounds
HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE
This is one of my battle in Gold League Modern rank. At a glance this is a battle of two players using Rebellion edition decks. Actually it is not, and it is not because my opponent has one level 1 Conclave Arcana cards.
Half of our line up, my team and theirs, are using soulbounds cards. This is not exactly saying that we do not have many cards selection, because some of soulbounds are great. However in this battle, it is what it is, both of us are low budget Summoner only team, and we rely heavily on our soulbounds.
Let's see how this battle goes, in fast mode
- The battle starts with both side buffing their team and debuffing their opponent. As I have said above, both of us rely heavily on our soulbounds here. Actually both line up are good, on par.
- They come with 9 melee damage, 3 range damage and 2 magic damage. Combined all they become 14 damage per round.
- My team comes with 6 melee damage, and 4 magic damage, combined all it becomes 10 damage per round.
- They have bigger fire power, higher health point, but overall my team is full of abilities.
- Look like round 1 is mine, my team wiped out their backline thorned wall, the Quilluin Legionary without any casualty.
- Round 2 is mine too, my team manages to keep the momentum high, killing their unit again.
- Round 3 is a total disaster for them, with Emberguard gets killed, they lose their demoralize ability and my team attacking force is getting higher
- round 4 is the last one, my team wins very convincing without taking any casualty.
I win totally in this battle, so my team is definitely better than them. Their line up is actually not as bad as it looks, the only problem they have is that their soulbounds cards are weak. Compared to mine, their soulbounds cards' level are lower.
So one good point we can learn from this approach, it is not about good or bad, but it is about having a well leveled soulbounds cards. They can be acquired freely, so do not hesitate to keep leveling up those soulbounds!
COMMONS MATTERS
Talking about soulbounds, you need to get them all, from commons to legendaries. Not only having their copies, their level should be well developed too, so do not fixated your focus only to higher tier which are Epic and Legendary rarity units.
So here I show you that even my focus is to get Epic and Legendary Soulbounds, I still upgrading my Commons too. Last week I made a post about rare, so let follow up it today with the commons.
I am getting the Gold Foil Common cards only, I am a gold foil player so I need only gold foil cards. It is useless to get 400 regular foil common and consume 400 alchemy potions. Better I go with Gold Foil directly. Only Legendary and Epic we can get better from gacha

and these are my common cards Rebellion soulbound edition:
I have completed all cards here, so I can play all. The challenge is to get them all to higher level, and I do not think it can be solved by pulling 40 Gold Foil cards today, it needs maybe 10 itteration to max leveled them, and I see that is quite pointless. I prefer to get them to level 6 to 8 only.
So here are the cards that I could level up today:
Drybone Hobgoblin is one of my favorite cards, especially during Nuxious Fumes ruleset. His ability to resist poison is mandatory. Leveling him from level 5 to 6 doesn't change much, but still appreciated.
Giand Alpine Skink... I like his leveling up, because it gives him phase ability. He can dodge magic attack right now, I love it. This card is awesome, he hits hard and fast.
I do not have Halaran Huntress before, I just got it today. So I like this one, directly acquire him at level 4.
I used to use her a lot when Chaos Legion still playable. She connects well with Obsidian, due to +1 magic damage buff. She is an early bloomer, her low level is good, but not much changes as she gets leveled up.
Nimbledook Explorer is the opposite of Blackmoor Wild elf. I rarely used this card before, but since I have some Conclave Arcana cards, I have started to use this one regularly.
Luceheim Demon is my favorite too, he can cure or cleanse any status ailment on main tank position. This leveling up is not something that significant, but still appreciated.
I like this Ujurak Brave leveling up, his health point increases to 9. It means he will get 3 point for any heal he receives.
I like this upgrade too on Broken Earth Thug, he has an armor now. So any incoming melee or range damage won't kill him directly.
The last and not the least, Ujurak Elder. He gets Strengthen now, I believe this is a massive impact for leveling up. I will rely more on him during Little League ruleset.
I think that's for today post... Thank you for your visit here. See you in Splinterlands Rank Battles!!!
