Hello Everyone!

This weekend turned out to be unexpectedly adventurous. Earlier today, my uncle suddenly invited us to go trekking somewhere in Lakewood, Zamboanga del Sur. Since it had been a long time since my last trek, I honestly wasn’t sure if I could still keep up. But I decided to go anyway — partly out of curiosity, and partly because I wanted to check for myself if I was still fit enough to trek.
Before we started, my uncle asked me if I needed a guide for assistance. He even told me to eat something sweet for energy. For a moment, I wondered if he thought I’d aged overnight. I’m not that old! Haha. His concern was funny but also kind of sweet.

As we began walking, I realized the trail wasn’t as difficult as I imagined. The fresh air, the trees, and the peaceful surroundings made the trek really enjoyable. My body felt a little rusty at first, but after a while, it adjusted, and I found myself appreciating the moment.

The most unforgettable part of the trip was when we had to cross a river. The water was clear and cold, and stepping on the rocks made it feel like a small adventure of its own. Fortunately, I was wearing shorts and sandals, so getting wet wasn’t a problem at all. Meanwhile, some of my companions had a harder time trying to keep their shoes dry. Crossing the river made the trip feel more exciting like a real nature escape.

What I thought would be a challenging and exhausting trek turned into a refreshing and meaningful experience. It reminded me how much I missed being outdoors and how important it is to try new things once in a while.
Sometimes, the best adventures are the ones you didn’t plan and this weekend trek was exactly that.
