It was another weekend on the road for @mrsbozz and I. We headed up to a campground that we usually don't visit until the fall each year. I'm not sure why we booked ourselves here at the beginning of summer, but it ended up being a wonderful weekend.
The photo above shows you our little slice of heaven. Depending on the campground, sites average right around 70 feet by 70 feet square. Some are larger and some are smaller, it just depends. Although our trailer isn't as big as some of the ones out there at 26 feet, I usually pick sites that can handle trailers up to 35 or 40 feet to give us a little more room to breathe.

There isn't a ton to do in the immediate vicinity of this campground, so it was actually a pretty laid back weekend without a lot of running around. We had to drive several miles down the road to one of the local Walmarts for a few things on Thursday evening when we arrived, but besides that, we pretty much stayed in the park.

The park has a number of walking paths, so each morning @mrsbozz and I would head out and put a couple miles in before breakfast. The weather was cool and pleasant, much different from what we are supposed to get this week. For the next three or four days they are calling for "feels like" temps in the 100 degree range.

We ate fairly good over the weekend too. French toast and sausage for breakfast one morning, grilled pork chops for dinner another night. It was all quite delicious!

The past few times we have went camping, I have been stopping at my friend @a4xjeeper's house and picking up some firewood. He has a pretty lucrative business that he has grown over the past few years selling firewood. In fact, he said at one point that he was making more selling wood than his wife was making at her regular job.
That's not a bad problem to have...
Although I am his friend, I take zero discounts on the wood because even at full price it is a great deal. I can buy a whole rack to fill the back of my truck for $20.

Depending on how cold it is, how soon we start the fire each evening, and how crazy we get, that $20 worth of firewood usually lasts us the whole weekend of camping. If you look at the photo above really closely, you can see our friends truck and camper off in the distance on the right side of the photo.

One of the things I love to do when I am camping on the weekend is take a nap in my chair under the awning of our trailer. On Saturday I was surprised to find a curious little chipmunk and squirrel get quite close to where I was sitting. They seemed to be foraging for food. You can see them both in the photo above if you look quite closely.
The chipmunk is just to the left of the squirrel.
It was a pretty great weekend that went by way too quickly. We short turn around though as in just another three days we hit the road and do it all over again!
