Today, while reviewing my investment portfolios, I noticed a new token I hadn't bought before: Monad. Monad launched today, and it seems I received some from the airdrop, but not a large amount—don't think I'm suddenly rich. Each Monad token is trading at around $0.02. We all like free stuff, so congratulations to the lucky recipients. The good thing is that I didn't have to do anything to receive this airdrop. That's what makes it a true airdrop, unlike those things that circulate online where you have to become some kind of promoter who ends up receiving crumbs.

But what makes Monad different, or what does this new Layer 1 promise? Well, in short, a kind of Solana, but faster. Specifically, a throughput of up to 10,000 transactions per second (TPS), which makes it very interesting for DeFi, especially for bots. A smooth and easy user experience thanks to 400ms blocks. Of course, it's compatible with EVM, as this is practically a requirement for users these days.
One feature that improves upon Solana is its low hardware requirements; it runs on a standard CPU. This could help with decentralization, but we'll see how it ultimately works. So, in summary, we can say it's an update to current networks, but I don't see any revolutionary changes that would make users migrate. But I'll definitely try it out anyway.
