I buy on Black Friday, but with caution.

I've always loved a good deal, maybe because I've never had much money, so it's a great way to get what I want. That's why for years I've used Black Friday to do my Christmas shopping and buy some gifts for family and friends. But when something becomes popular, there are always people who want to take advantage of the situation and make a killing at everyone else's expense.

So when I shop on Black Friday, I follow strict rules. For the last six months, I've been making a list of the products I want to buy and noting their prices each month. I use a simple Excel spreadsheet for this. That way, when shopping day arrives, I can see if the discount is real.

Another thing I do is have a plan B, or rather, a backup product, in case the one I want doesn't go down in price or sells out. But the most important thing is to be inflexible and not buy the items if there's no discount, because if you don't, you always end up paying more. And of course, never buy anything that isn't on the list, because then you'll have fallen into the trap of consumerism that benefits large stores and technology giants so much.
