New Belgian government wants to sell part of gold reserves…

Short term view

Our newest federal government in Belgium has big issues with the budget. It took ages to find a political agreement with all parties go form a deal that had a neutral budget. Which is very necessary because Belgium has been creating a huge debt inflation in the last two decades.

Now, there is another issue, the investments in defense need to be upped substantially, but there’s no room for that in the budget. So. Our prime minister wants to sell some of our gold reserves to dolve that problem. Which is very short sighted, say a lot of economists. We need those reserves for our credit rating. And we should be thinking of adding instead of selling…

It shows how stupid and short sighted our leaders are!

Sincerely,

I completely agree!
Selling gold doesn't seem the best idea to me. I would rather see them to save on our government structure...

Yep, there is a lot of easy money to make there!
