Massive move from WhatsApp to Signal

Privacy from big tech

The last few months a massive switch is happening from messaging apps by a lot of people.

The people that haven’t heard of Signal yet, will be hearing from it very shortly. The last month Signal has seen a growth of 400 % in new accounts. Which is huge. Currently Signal has around 70 million users compared to the 3 billion WhatsApp has. But the numbers grow fast.

People are searching for a hideout from big tech, which abuse and sell our data to the highest bidder. Signal doesn’t, is completely non-profit and open source. And all your data is encrypted, all the time.

An understandable switch, and the beginning of an enlightened tech revolution?

We shall see!

Sincerely,

I had signal for a while but very few were using it. I don't think it is really encrypted. Whatsapp claims the same but if authorities want to have access to your chat history they can get it. The safest at the moment, from what I know is Keet which is a peer-to-peer video calls and chat room app.

I would like to use Telegram instead however it has the annoying issue of putting you in spam, so you cannot post dms anymore unless your appeal is successful.
