Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Share Your Battle

in LeoFinance10 months ago (edited)

Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game and there are some interesting battles with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week the topic is a great battle that I had recently. In particular, how speed is a very powerful thing in matches.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Super Sneak. This means that all melee monsters gain the sneak ability. There are 22 mana available and I am left with the choice of water, life, or death splinter.

I used Kelya Frendul as my summoner so that I get an extra armor and speed. My lineup starts off with Baakjira which has void, slow and strengthen. After that, I have Daarg for the weapons training and swiftness. I also have Clockwork for another swiftness. Then I have a fiend as a filler monster and Chaos Agent in the back delay those melee monsters with sneak using dodge. My damage during this fight will primarily be magic damage and I am focusing on the speed advantage to delay my opponent.

Round 1

It looks like my opponent is reducing damage and healing/repairing it using his taunt monster with shield. On my side, I am more focused on speed and magic damage. So the match will be a battle of endurance to see whether or not I can kill off his tank first or if my tank dies first. Once that is done, the match is over. I do think that I have the advantage though because of the +3 speed buff on my side and -1 speed debuff for my opponent. This is a 4 speed advantage on top of my existing speed for my monsters and it will allow me to dodge a lot of the melee attacks.

Round 4

round 4.png
I killed forward to when the tank dies because it isn't interesting otherwise. My opponent only landed a few attacks and this gave me enough time to kill off his tank. So this means that the rest of the fight is my win. There is no way for my opponent to kill me off when my magic attacks can't miss.

A few rounds later, I was able to win like I expected because my magic monsters can't miss.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. Weapons training gave my no attack monsters magic damage and this allowed me to overcome my opponent's taunt and heal combination. Also, with the speed advantage, my opponent only landed 4 attacks the entire match and I was able to survive long enough to get rid of his most dangerous card. As there was super sneak, having a dodge tank in the back along with the increased speed also increased how often I dodged attacks. Speed is very important in matches because it helps a lot against ranged or melee monsters and it also gives you the chance to attack first.

You can see my entire match here.

You had a nice play
Wonderful!

Thank you. Daarg Deadblast is a great card for the speed and weapons training.
