I remember when I first heard about the Curation Trail, it took me a while to find information about what it is and what it offers. Figuring out how to follow it took even more time. So, I thought that maybe someone else doesn't know much about it and would like to learn more about this great feature.
What is Curation Trail
First, I'll try to explain briefly what the Curation Trail is.
It’s an automatic upvoting for a post following the curator or the person leading the trail.
Which posts does the curator upvote?
It depends on the curator and the goal of the train. Some curators upvote only the posts within the community. Some choose posts they like. Others upvote based on specific hashtags etc.
Why should you follow the Curation Trail?
There might be other reasons or benefits, but I’ll share my own opinion and experience.
Firstly, you support other authors.
Secondly, you support the train itself.
Thirdly, you receive automatic curation rewards not only in Hive but also in other tokens.
So, you can upvote other authors' posts, without following the Curation Trail, and you’ll still receive curation rewards. And you can even adjust the voting power for each post. But that means you’re doing it manually. But with the Curation Trail, you receive rewards even when you are offline.
I receive very little Hive payouts because I have very low HP (Hive Power). Most of my HP is delegated to others. By the way, I specifically delegated it to my Curation trails and rewards for delegating.
My Curation Trail
At the moment, I’m following 10 Curation Trails. Here are 5 of them:
- @curie. This is the biggest Curation Trail.
- @risingstargame. I love the game.
- @ecency. This is my favourite community, platform, and it has many features that help users.
- @bradleyarrow. A community I’ve only known for a couple of days, but I already like it. It is just like with @ecency, I enjoy their projects and goals.
- @travelfeed. I love travelling.
Where to find the Curation Trail and how to follow it
There might be other services, but I use this one - https://hive.vote/ .
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to follow the Curation Trail:
- Log in to your account.
- Grant permission to the service.
- Go to the Curation trail tab.
- Choose the trail.
- Click the FOLLOW button.
For each train, you can adjust the desired parameters (voting power, time, etc.). Just click on the icon as shown in the screenshot below.
On the opened window set up your curation trail.
Explore the Curation trails, and follow… definitely, my 5 trails! :)
