Hive-engine.com is one of the most widely used websites for our wallet management. Many people like this website for the lightweight features the website is having. Another big reason would be that people are very much used to this website interface than tribaldex.com. I like hive-engine.com and I use it regularly to manage my tokens. Another good thing about hive-engine.com is that the website is also open source.
The website is being maintained by @reazuliqbal. Recently the website got two new features which I would say are the most important. I'm glad that Reaz had the time to work on this code repository. Being a developer I know the effort that would be involved. The first thing would be to bring all the packages up to date and then start working on the new features. Sometimes we might even need to upgrade some of the other codes too to bring it up to date. Thanks again to Reaz for taking the time to update this site.
Facility to switch nodes
Recently we had an issue with Hive Engine where some of the nodes were affected and the biggest problem we had was that there was no ability to switch to a different node. It was hard to make people believe that the issue was not with Hive Engine itself but only with a few nodes going down. I had to have some tough conversations with people who hated Hive Engine from day 1. Later the issue was identified as a bad actor trying to bring all the nodes down with bad requests. That issue was resolved. However, the need for having the ability to switch nodes was still an important requirement.
A button now available on the bottom right corner of the website would open up the above. This button upon clicking will provide a facility to change the RPC nodes. There is a default option available where some of the available default nodes would be displayed. If we have a private node that we would like to use, it can also be added to the list. If people don't know which one to choose, it is good to leave it with the first one in the list because that node internally has the facility to fail over to the other nodes.
Facility to switch between multiple accounts
Usually, when we use Hive-engine.com, there is always a need to switch between multiple accounts. For people who are using multiple accounts, this feature is convenient. I have always needed to choose different accounts and with this feature, I don't have to log out and log in again whenever I have to switch.
For people who have multiple accounts, this feature can be very handy. We have to log in only once with a keychain confirmation. After that, it is easier to switch between accounts. This gives a seamless experience to the users.
When asked about having these features implemented on Tribaldex, Reaz mentioned that it would be good to get the low-hanging fruits first. I agree with that and I'm happy about having these features on the Hive-Engine website and excited to see new features coming into the website. Having multiple interfaces is very good in my opinion because people have different tastes and one UI would be good for someone and someone might prefer a different UI. Having more choices is always good.
