The Royal Melbourne Show

This year, we headed to the Royal Melbourne Show for a family adventure packed with fun, excitement and plenty of memories. The show is always a highlight on every Melbournians calendar. With something for everyone from thrilling rides to colourful show bags and of course, the grand finale of fireworks that lights up the night sky.

KIIS FERRIS WHEEL

The first stop on our itinerary was the KIIS Ferris wheel, one of the show’s iconic attractions. Towering 100 feet into the air it gave us all the thrill of seeing the entire showgrounds from a bird’s eye view. As we climbed higher the cityscape unfolded beneath us, offering stunning views of Melbourne. The kids, wide eyed with excitement and couldn’t stop pointing at all the sights below especially the other rides and the bustling crowds that looked like ants!.

The Ferris wheel ride itself was a mix of excitement and calm. While the height gave us a little adrenaline rush, the steady pace and the cool breeze made it a relaxing experience. Sitting up there, taking in the view was a great moment to pause and appreciate how much fun the day had already been. And for the kids, it was probably one of the most thrilling rides they’ve ever been on.

Show Bags!

No trip to the Royal Melbourne Show is complete without grabbing some showbags. After our Ferris wheel ride, we headed straight to the showbag pavilion. As usual the huge variety was mind blowing there was a bag for every taste, from chocolates and toys to merchandise from popular TV shows and cartoon characters.

The kids had a field day choosing their favourites. It’s always an adventure watching them decide between bags filled with their favourite treats and toys, and this year was no different. We left the pavilion with our arms full, the kids already excited to explore the goodies inside once we got home.

Rides and Fire Works

After a quick snack break, we headed toward the amusement rides section. The kids were drawn to the bright lights, the sounds of laughter and the ringing of game booths. They loved trying out some of the smaller rides, from spinning teacups to mini roller coasters all while soaking in the festive atmosphere.

The showgrounds were buzzing with excitement even the unwiinable carnival games became a highlight, as the kids tried their luck to win stuffed toys. The mixture of laughter, thrill and the occasional competitive spirit kept everyone entertained for hours.

the excitement of the day reached its peak with the grand fireworks and laser lights display. We found a spot with a clear view and when the first bursts of light shot into the sky, the kids were mesmerized. The vibrant colours, the booming sounds and the spectacle of it all was the perfect way to end the day.

Each new explosion was met with gasps of wonder and smiles all around. It was one of those moments where you realise how magical events like this are for children, creating memories that last a lifetime.

Overall it was an epic time at the Royal Melbourne Show!
