¡LLEGÓ EL VERANO!
Son las 6:30 pm, la temperatura está alrededor de los 30 grados centígrados, hay un sol resplandeciente, voy camino a la playa, que está muy cerca de casa. Vivo en La Herradura, un pueblo pequeño ubicado en la costa de Andalucía, a hora y media de Málaga y de Granada. Este es mi primer verano. En donde vengo, Venezuela, no hay cambio de estaciones como aquí, hay tiempo de verano, cuando hay sol y lluvia y tiempo de sequía. A finales de año baja un poco la temperatura, pero unos pocos grados. La temperatura promedio a lo largo del año es de 22 grados centígrados.
Lo que llamamos verano en Venezuela es el periodo de vacaciones escolares, en esto coincide con el verano español, que va desde mediados o finales de junio, dependiendo del grado escolar, hasta septiembre, cuando se reinician las actividades educativas. Pero no sube tanto la temperatura. Aquí en España, desde muy temprano se siente el calor. He escuchado en las noticias que en otras ciudades de Andalucía como Sevilla y Córdoba, las temperaturas han superado los 40 grados. Lo que más me ha sorprendido del verano español, es que hay luz y calor hasta después de las 9:00 de la noche. A esa hora es que empieza a ocultarse el sol. Los días parecen más largos, aunque tengan, igual que siempre, 24 horas. En mi país ya a las 6 de la tarde empieza a ocultarse el sol.
Por lo que he podido escuchar entre los vecinos de La Herradura, no suele ser tan alta la temperatura en la región, ya antes de la llegada oficial del verano, el 21 de junio, ya había empezado a subir la temperatura y la llegada de los turistas. Como La Herradura es un pueblo de playa suele tener turistas durante todo el año, pero en temporada baja, cuando no es verano, no se hacen sentir mucho. En pocos días fue impresionante el cambio, de pronto, a todo lo largo de la costa, desde tempranas horas de la mañana, no hay un solo espacio para estacionar el coche, e igualmente, la playa y los cafés están llenos de gente.
España es uno de los destinos turísticos más visitados de Europa, especialmente por personas que vienen del norte del continente, Alemania, Suecia, Inglaterra. Cuando vas caminando, ves y escuchas personas de distintas edades hablando inglés, alemán y lo que imagino sueco, porque lo hablan personas muy rubias.

Esta debe ser la pregunta que con más frecuencia se deben hacer los europeos y habitantes de otras latitudes donde hay cuatro estaciones. Bueno, yo no iré a ninguna parte, por ahora. Estaré aquí en La Herradura, iré a la playa, ya en el atardecer y durante el día estaré haciendo las actividades habituales de mi agenda, leer, escribir, conversar con mi pareja, preparar las clases para mi alumno online, que tampoco viajará y planificar algunas actividades que haré después del verano.
Cuando llega el verano es conveniente tomar algunas precauciones al subir la temperatura:
1.- Tomar mucha agua, o por lo menos líquidos.
2.- Tener en casa alguna forma de ventilación.
3.- Ir a la playa a refrescarte en el mar o a la piscina , si tienes una piscina cerca. Yo tengo el mar. Eso sí, usa protector solar y trata de no exponerte al sol en las horas de más alta temperatura o protégete bajo una sombrilla.
Infelizmente el calor del verano seca muchos árboles y flores que nos alegran en la primavera.
Pero empiezan a crecer algunos frutos que podremos comernos en el otoño. Les muestro fotos de la mata de aguacate que está en el patio de mi casa, donde ya empiezan a verse unos pequeños aguacates creciendo.
Este verano inicié una actividad que me gusta mucho y que hacía mucho tiempo no hacía: cantar. Me incorporé al coro Rociero de La Herradura. El coro Rociero es un grupo de música tradicional andaluza, cantamos acompañados de guitarras, palmas, cajón y castañuelas. Realmente he disfrutado mucho esta nueva actividad.

Spain is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Europe, especially by people coming from the north of the continent, Germany, Sweden, England. When you walk around, you see and hear people of different ages speaking English, German and what I imagine Swedish, because it is spoken by very blond people.

This must be the question most often asked by Europeans and inhabitants of other latitudes where there are four seasons at the moment. Well, I am not going anywhere, for now. I will be here in La Herradura, I will go to the beach, already at sunset and during the day I will be doing the usual activities of my agenda, reading, writing, chatting with my partner, preparing classes for my online student, who will not travel either and planning some activities that I will do after the summer.
When summer arrives, it is convenient to take some precautions when the temperature rises:
1.- Drink plenty of water, or at least liquids.
2.- Have at home some form of ventilation.
3.- Go to the beach to cool off in the sea or to the pool , if you have a pool nearby. I have the sea. Of course, use sunscreen and try not to expose yourself to the sun in the hottest hours or protect yourself under an umbrella.
Unfortunately, the summer heat dries out many trees and flowers that bring us joy in the spring.
But some fruits are starting to grow and we will be able to eat them in the fall. I show you pictures of the avocado bush in my backyard, where you can already see some small avocados growing.
This summer I started an activity that I really like and that I had not done for a long time: singing. I joined the Rociero choir of La Herradura. The Rociero choir is a group of traditional Andalusian music, we sing accompanied by guitars, clap your hands, cajón and castanets. I really enjoyed this new activity.
