Yesterday was wonderful for me, and I want to share it with you because it was an experience I had at the end of my workday. As many of you know, traveling is part of my daily life. My job requires me to travel long distances at times, but there are moments when you stop to take a deep breath and marvel at your surroundings. That's how it was when I stopped at the Puerto Costanza viewpoint, located on Simplicio Rodríguez Avenue, in the municipality of Antolín del Campo, Nueva Esparta state, on our beloved Margarita Island.

El mío, les cuento, ayer fue maravilloso y quiero compartir con ustedes, porque fue una experiencia que viví al finalizar mi jornada laboral. Como muchos saben, recorrer caminos es parte de mi día a día, mi trabajo requiere que recorra en ocasiones largas distancias, pero hay momentos en los que uno se detiene para respirar profundo dejarse maravillar por lo que nos rodea. Así fue mi parada en el mirador de Puerto Costanza, ubicado en la avenida Simplicio Rodríguez, en el municipio Antolín del Campo, estado Nueva Esparta, en nuestra querida Isla Margarita.
Margarita is a place that never ceases to amaze. Its coastline is full of magical spots, beaches of all sizes and colors, and landscapes that look like something out of a postcard. The Puerto Costanza viewpoint is one of those places that invites you to stop, contemplate, and reconnect with natural beauty.
Margarita es un lugar que nunca deja de sorprender. Su litoral costero está lleno de rincones mágicos, playas de todos los tamaños y colores, y paisajes que parecen sacados de una postal. El mirador de Puerto Costanza es uno de esos sitios que te invita a detenerte, contemplar y reconectar con la belleza natural.
From this privileged spot, if you look to the left, you can see Costanza Beach. It's not very big, but it has a special charm. It's perfect for families, enjoying a quiet day, and if you like hiking, it's ideal. Access is narrow, which gives it an air of adventure. You can get there by off-road vehicle or on foot, and believe me, it's totally worth it. The feeling of arriving at this hidden corner, surrounded by nature, is simply comforting.
Desde este punto privilegiado, si miras hacia la izquierda, puedes ver la playa Costanza. No es muy extensa, pero tiene un encanto especial. Es perfecta para ir en familia, disfrutar de un día tranquilo, y si te gusta el senderismo, es ideal. Su acceso es angosto, lo que le da un aire de aventura. Puedes llegar en vehículos todo terreno o caminando, y créanme, vale totalmente la pena. La sensación de llegar a ese rincón escondido, rodeado de naturaleza, es simplemente reconfortante.
Right in front of the viewpoint, there is a small cove. It is a natural refuge for some fishermen in the area. The most curious thing is that there are many gannets hanging around there, waiting patiently for the boats to return from the sea. According to a local, the fishermen often share some sardines with them, and sometimes, when they are out at sea, these birds serve as their guides. I found this connection between man and nature fascinating, so simple and yet so profound at the same time.
Justo frente al mirador hay una pequeña ensenada que parece. Es un refugio natural para algunos pescadores de la zona. Lo más curioso es que hay muchos alcatraces que merodean por allí, esperando pacientemente a que los botes regresen del mar. Según me contó un lugareño, los pescadores suelen compartir con ellos algunas sardinas, y en ocasiones, cuando están en alta mar, estas aves les sirven de guía. Me pareció fascinante ese vínculo entre el hombre y la naturaleza, tan sencillo y tan profundo a la vez.
If you turn your gaze to the right, you will find Punta Parigua. There are not enough words to describe what you see from there. It is an image that screams “This is Margarita!” The sea appears in a palette of colors ranging from deep blue to the brightest turquoise. It is difficult to put into words the emotion you feel when you contemplate that view. Every time I pass by and have time, I stop, and even though I've done so several times, I always discover something new and different that makes me fall in love and captivates me at this viewpoint.
Si giras la vista hacia la derecha, te encuentras con Punta Parigua. No hay palabras suficientes para describir lo que se ve desde allí. Es una imagen que grita “¡Esto es Margarita!”. El mar se presenta en una paleta de colores que va desde el azul profundo hasta el turquesa más brillante. Es difícil poner en palabras la emoción que se siente al contemplar esa vista. Cada vez que pasó por allí y tengo tiempo, me detengo, y aunque ya lo he hecho varias veces, siempre descubro algo nuevo y diferente que me enamora y me atrapa en este mirador.
The weather also plays a role. When the sun is shining brightly, as it was yesterday, the colors intensify, the shadows change, and the landscape seems to transform. It's as if the viewpoint had a thousand different versions, each one offering a unique experience, not to mention the sunset, which I'll see if I can catch it in the next few days.
El clima también juega su papel. Cuando el sol está radiante, como lo estuvo ayer, los colores se intensifican, las sombras cambian, y el paisaje parece transformarse. Es como si el mirador tuviera mil versiones distintas, y cada una te regala una experiencia única y ni hablar del atardecer, que veré si en estos días puedo verlo.
